  1. We are thinking of you all and sending lots of love and hugs. Thank you for sharing the service with us. Was a beautiful service and we were glad to be able to see you all and share in the remembrance of Alan.
He was a wonderful man. We were so happy we got to spend time with you, Jennifer, and your Dad when you were here visiting a few years ago. Lots of wonderful memories ❤❤

  2. Dear Linda, Bill, Kellen, Nicole and Lauren,
It means so much that you were able to be there with us and we agree – Dad would have been very happy with the service, would have loved the music and the singing – especially Beth and Kathy – and enjoyed the wake and been so proud that so many people were able to be with us to help bid him farewell. As I said at the wake, he was extremely fond of all of his nieces, and especially you Linda, his beautiful Canadian niece. I am so very glad that we were able to visit together so recently, and thank you both – especially you Bill – for helping him find the Tok H and revisit the Toronto of his youth.
As you know, you are all very welcome to visit at any time, though we may not be able to guarantee the same adventure on the road as you enjoyed with dad. Sending our love and look forward to seeing you all again soon.
Love Jennifer. Larry, Beth and Jack

  3. Jennifer, Larry, Bethany and Jack. Please accept our deepest sympathies. The service was beautiful and Uncle Alan would have been very proud. We are very grateful to have so many fond memories of Alan and his witty sense of humour. Always thankful for his generosity including a very special gift given me when I was a very small child. A stuffed Koala that still sits on my dressing table to this very day. Always grateful for the experience of the Great Ocean Road with Uncle Alan as our guide and captain. An experience that would make most designers of thrill rides at amusement parks blush. We are deeply saddened and will miss him terribly whilst at the same time consider ourselves blessed to have had him in our lives. He was a special man.

  4. Lovely thoughts from Larry and Bethany. It reminded me of other trips we made with Alan, and also of a few visits to Herbert Street, back in the late 70’s, as well as more recently. Your dad took us on our most wonderful trip from Cairns to Melbourne a few years ago, with many excellent stops he recommended in between. Wonderful memories to cherish and think of often. We send our condolences to all the family.

Jennifer, Larry , Beth and Jack

  5. Sincere condolences to the Nielsen family. So glad Alan was able to visit all his extended Canadian family just a short time ago. He has left a wonderful legacy. Blessings to all. Much love from Margaret, Roy and Kristen French.
