  2. Dear Cath David Cameron Shaunaand families so very sorry for the loss of Alex he was a genuine hounorable decent man. we will never forget his welcoming smile his cheery personality and the advice give to us often, we considered Alex a friend and confidant I will never forget the first time I wondered in to school council at CNPS and ended up president I was absolutely lost but a nod and a smile from Alex helped me on my way . Thanks Alex from all of us Peter Linda Ben Jason Adam Weber and families . God bless you all .

  3. Dear Cath, David, Shauna and Cameron and families, our deepest sympathy for the loss of Alex. He was a delightful, intelligent and intuitive man. Loved working with him on projects at CNPS-he always brought a sense of humour to some ridiculous situations. Peter and myself were blessed to be part of his inner parent circle. Our children were all students under Alexs’ leadership and still remember him fondly. Building forts in the bush during school camp, leading them through an adventure walk along the beach at Blairgowrie and just saying hello every morning as they arrived for school. Thank you Alex.He loved his children and grandchildren immensely-very proud and loving Grandpa. Even though he was always joking and giving Cath cheek it was very evident he loved her to Mars. I’m glad he didn’t retire, retire but continued studying and working as a Social Worker. He needed to be giving to the community as he did throughout his professional and private life.
    Blessings to you all.
Alex will be remembered for his cheeky smile, wicked sense of humour and daggy dress sense.
Our love the Carpenters, ( Peter, Susan, Ally + baby Jacob, Josh, Jacob)

  15. Dear Cath and family,
A beautiful service and worthy tribute to your dear Alex. What articulate children and grandchildren who could express so well what Alex meant to them. They have benefited from the person that Alex was.
Cath, I admire your strength in coping with Alex as a dementia patient, without the mind that you knew. You have been his good and faithful friend always.
The flowers were so beautiful, on the coffin and the ones in the church given by the parish also.
Aim to care for yourself now.

  24. Hi David,

I just wanted to send my condolences to you, Cath and the family on Alex’s passing.

I had the great fortune to work at Coburg North PS as Alex’s AP for 6 years.

    They were 6 fantastic years.

I learnt a lot from Alex – he was considered, even tempered, great with people and always prepared.

Alex was a cool operator and rarely ruffled. His understated style made people feel comfortable and they trusted him – he knew his stuff.

He was indeed a great role model and will be greatly missed.

    Best wishes,

    Paul Kenna
    Principal
    Belle Vue Park PS

  26. Very sad to hear of Alex’s passing. A great colleague and principal over many years.
