After watching the service online, if you can leave a guest message to let the family know you have joined into the service, that would be greatly appreciated.
We have only just learned of this deeply saddening news. We knew Hamish as a boy, and we haven’t seen the family in many years, but we remember those times and that fine little chap. Our deepest sympathy and loving condolences to Ian, Liz and the family members we do not know.
We have a grandson, Hamish, a young man now, and a namesake who will help us remember your dear Hamish
Dear Liz, Vic and Edwina, I was so sad to hear of you losing Hamish. There are no words, so I won’t even try. Thank you for sharing this day. Everyone’s journey of grief is different. Please know that I am thinking of you and sending you all my love.
Beautiful service. Thank-you for the opportunity to see this. Heartbroken I couldn’t be there. Eulogies were amazing, and expressed so well who Hamish was xoxox
Giorgia, Gabe and Isla, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Hamish was a genuinely lovely person with a warm smile and endless love for his family. Our thoughts are with you, love Penny, Sam, Joey and Eliza
Hamish, you were a natural leader, a fantastic role model and a great mate. Your commitment and dedication to your family, friends and country was remarkable and you always made time for those who needed it. I enjoyed our time at MUR together, where I knew I could bounce ideas off you or seek your advice on anything. You were such a source of morale and I was so excited to see you back at 22 so that we could continue the good times, sink many more beers and do what we all love.
It’s heartbreaking that an individual with so much more to offer the world was taken so soon, but you achieved so much in your time here. You’ve always inspired me to just ‘be better’ – although I’d never admit it to you. Thank you for blessing so many of our lives. My deepest sympathies to your beautiful family during these challenging times.
Hamish, we all thought we had so much more time. I grieve that you’re gone. Wish it wasn’t so. Your contagious smile and obligatory “Gday shaggas” greeting is just one of many memories I’ll cherish forever.
Hamish, every time i see your photo, i feel as if you’re right there listening to me as you had always been. You have been a role model for many at MUR and for me. I have had the honour and privilege to work with you on several occasions, with the most recent being your last army exercise, sharing and learning from you and having that friendly chat at the night picket which I never imagined would be the last one. You had always given others the opportunity to speak first before sharing your words of wisdom. Most grounded person i had known in the army so far in my career with great sense of humour and respect for all.
You were an excellent human being, a friend and soldier, and an inspiration of what to be for me. I will miss you.
I have known Hamish during our time at Monash Company. He has been a senior member of the team but always big at heart and had time for everyone. He was always keen to help anyone and also mentored me from his past experiences in the army. I have always found him full of life. His laugh will always make your day and lighten the mood. I am not only deeply shocked by his sudden passing away, I believe the world is one short of a great soul.
I would like to offer my deepest and most sincere condolences to the Goddard family. May his soul rest in peace.
Thank you for providing the streaming service knowing that I can still say goodbye to my mate. With tears in my eyes and no words to express my sadness, I wish the family courage and strength at this time of sorrow.
Farewell Hamish.
I was lucky enough to cross paths twice with you… the last few years as two old “retreads” at Monash Company where I, the cadets and the staff walked a little taller with you there.
I won’t forget 2am cram sessions on TB4, how you kept that cheeky grin on your face in spite of the pressures. That we kept in touch after I moved to Perth…. I hoped to see you graduate at RMC, and get you over West for a beer or three.
To Giorgia and your beautiful family, I am so sorry for your loss and send my deepest sympathies and love to you.
Hamish, you were an exceptional leader, and even better friend…. I miss you terribly. RIP mate.
Thankyou for having this accessible online. It was so sad hearing if the passing of Hamish (Gods to me) and I would have been there if I didn’t have a surgical appointment at the exact same time in another state.
Hamish was a highly respected and well loved man. Such an amazing person to be around and I was so lucky to have him as an army brother. He would genuinely check in on me at work and it’s amazing how those little things mean such a lot. What a blessing it was to have him in our lives.
Hamish my friend it was a pleasure and great fun to have had you as a mate and mentor.
We tread many of the same adventures in parallel and together on our journey through life. You inspire me with your big generous spirit and most affable persona.
We shared so many stories of our earlier “working” lives, and your truely epic tales of pancake parlour fun where you met the love of your life. Giorgia you and Hamish produced two amazing bundles of joy, my love is with you and all of the tremendous family and friends who Hamish’s life touched.
Yesterday was an extremely difficult day as we farewelled our great friend and mentor Hamish Goddard.
It was an honour to be one of his Pall Bearers and I know Hamish would have loved to provide helpful tips with our slow march if given the opportunity.
He would have done so in such a way that you wouldn’t feel shame for making a meal of it, instead encouraged to be better and nailing it under his direction and coaching.
It was Hamish’s approach to life that made him such a great leader, always caring for his mates well-being in the way he would look you in the eye when asking “how are you Smithy?”More importantly, listening intently to your response.
He would take you under his wing when you needed somebody to help. I’ve never met a coach or mentor as good as Hamish. The “Goddard Standard” is something I will continue to aim for.
Hamish didn’t get the opportunity to finish his training and graduate, but in my mind he was already a Lieutenant and a great leader.
Rest In Peace Hamish. I will miss you.
Thank you for allowing us to pay our respects to such a beautiful soul. Never have truer words been spoken. We were blessed to have met Hamish through the Pancake Parlour, his kind caring and mischievous demeanour won our hearts all those years ago. We cherish the fun and happy times we had. Our hearts go out to all of his loving family and especially to Giorgia and his beautiful children. Rest in peace Ham+W. All our love Charlene (Chucky) and Keiran.
My heartfelt sympathies to Giorgia and the kids, and all of Hamish’s family. I know that Hamish will be sorely missed, but I’m glad to have known him during his too short time in this world.
RIP Hamish xxx
My heartfelt condolences go out to the Goddard family. Working alongside Hamish at Yarris and having known him as a strong leader and loving and caring family person who always exemplified with actions and deeds. Hamish always put his hand forward to care, nurture and lead people around him. With his charismatic smile, he made demanding situations easy. I will surely miss the presence of a truly lovable and kind person. Hamish will be remembered and cherished in our memories. Rest in peace mate
My deepest condolences to the Goddard family. Hamish was always so positive, encouraging and friendly. He brought joy to those who knew him and served with him at 4CER and beyond.
A beautiful service for a beautiful boy. I’m so sorry I couldn’t be there.
My heart goes out to you all. Thank you for making it possible to be part of the ceremony
It was a true pleasure to have known and trained alongside Hamish. To me, Hamish was a kind soul, a proud father, and a true mate. I look back fondly on the time Hamish and I shared, and I will always remember how much of a genuine loving man he was. Hamish always made time for his fellow soldiers and friends, and I will miss him dearly. I extend my sincerest condolences to Giorgia and the Goddard family, and offer an apology for not being able to join you in person today. Hamish was a beautiful man; rest in peace mate.
I worked with Hamish in Impact Data some years ago. We started around the same time with just a few days between us. He was such a wonderful man. You felt his warm nature as soon as you met him. So kind, so funny, always smiling and infecting others with his positivity.
My deepest sympathies and love to his wife Georgia, beautiful children Gabe and Isla and to all of his family and friends.
Thoughts are with you Giogia, Gabe, Isla and family. We had not known Hamish long, however we were taken by his open and friendly personality. Such a kind generous man taken too soon.
As reflected in all these comments, alot can be said about Hamish’s authentic and selfless character. I personally want to thank him for his respect, guidence and friendship in the short time I spent with him. As a father myself, I am heartbroken for his family and hope everyone is as well as they can be during such a difficult time.
Goodbye to one of the best humans I’ve had the pleasure of knowing. I will always remember your smile and your kindness – and how welcoming you were to everybody you met. Very grateful to have met you at Jam Factory PP so many years ago and will remember our fun times together always.
Sending deepest sympathies and love to your beautiful family ❤️

Rest in Peace Hamish, a great friend, support and flat-mate in a run down shack in Richmond.
My most important memory, to which I have tols many and my family, was in when I was sat in a house on Christmas Day 2000, with no-one, the other end of the world to my family. Hamish and Ian turned up, from their family traditions, and told me to get ready and join them. They took me to their house and family to join in their Christmas dinner.
This alone sums up the care and respect and spirit Hamish and his family had for everyone around them.
God Bless to all his family on a precious life that I was blessed to be part of.

Goddard was someone I looked up to and respected. I will never forget the smile on his face, and the sense of calm that it instilled in me – if he was smiling, everything was okay. He will be missed, but not lost.
Hamish was a ‘true gentleman’ and he exemplified all the qualities and attributes that you would associate with that somewhat old-fashioned term.
I was fortunate to get to know him though my husband (Warren) and his association with 4CER/22ER. He was just a genuinely nice person who always made me feel welcome and included. My sincere condolences to his all his family. He will be greatly missed.

With deepest sympathy for your loss, please accept our heartfelt condolences. Working alongside Hamish at YARRIS for several years he showed me that he was not only a great team leader he was also affable, kind and a true gentleman.
As an NCO at MUR I didn’t know Hamish terribly well but I remember him as a very willing worker and a good hand. While on a work party he and I had a great talk about his time in RAE and I know he was very highly regarded in those circles. A sad loss indeed.
I have great memories of Hamish when I worked at 4 CER/22 ER 2011 – 2014. He always had a smile and was always willing to lend a hand. He will be greatly missed and but never forgotten. Thank you for streaming and feel honoured to celebrate his life.

Heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the Goddard family and the Yarris team. Hamish was always smiling, helpful, polite, professional and a pleasure to engage with. He is greatly missed.
Hamish was one of the best people I’ve ever known. Always had time to listen and a kind word. Always looked after his blokes. The world is poorer for losing him.
