A very lovely funeral service. Caroline, your tribute to your Dad was very good as was the photo tribute. Sorry I could not be there. I will miss looking after Ian’s electrical, electronic and computer needs as well as many other odd jobs which I have done over the past many years. Definitely one of natures true gentlemen. Love to all the family.
Thanks Ian for your outstanding contribution to the advancement of technical education and its flagship, RMIT.
From its humble beginnings as the Working Mens College, RMIT became the highly respected leader of technical education in Victoria. Your expertise in the development and applications of electronics and electrical technology helped it maintain this status.
Later, you added your skills as an administrator and as a leader to influence and guide many colleagues. Your loyalty to RMIT was always foremost.
A service which said so much about dear Ian. He was one of those rare individuals who came closest
to fulfil the greatest commandment outlined by Jesus- he loved God, he valued his life and lived it to the full in service, and loved “his ‘neighbour”. A wonderful man who did not have a nasty bone in his body,
A beautiful tribute from Caroline on behalf of you all. Much love to all the family.
Remembering Ian with fondness. May he rest in peace.
I met Ian when we were both charter members of Rotary, one of natures gentlemen.
