  1. What a beautiful celebration of your Mother’s wonderful life Jackie, Michael, Julia and Gillian.
Seeing your children and hearing your tributes has left me a weeping mess but also knowing how intensely proud your Mum would be of you all. What I most liked about Mrs Jarvis was that from the age of 11 when I met her in being Jackie’s friend at school, she always made me feel so welcome to your home and also grown up due to how she spoke to me. This was different to most other adults. She always made me feel that what I had to say was worthwhile.
A beautiful, clever and engaged person she was to be sure.
Thinking of you all over this really hard time. Love Mary

  2. My mother and I met Irene only three years ago but in that short period of time she made an indelible impression on us. On meeting her the first time to do some gardening work at her holiday home she proofed to be a delight to work for offering tea, cake and good conversation. Always inquisitive in a caring manor she arranged for us to drop in and see her one morning. On arrival she had breakfast laid out and had invited two others guests who she believed could help us around our own large property. My mother has problems with her hands. Irene keen to help again gave my mum contact details of hand specialist.
Subsequent to finding out about her illness Irene sent us a message that she was looking for a home for her staffy/kelpie cross. Knee jerk reaction we decide to adopt her. Not the sort of dog we would have chosen but she has given us so much pleasure. Josie is the first of our dogs trained to fetch the paper and on occasion when required to go thru the shut gate to carry out the task. Josie has given us no end of amusement. Making us laugh with the things she gets up to and a pleasant reminder of Irene.
We are grateful to have met Irene and her lovely children and hope to keep in contact.
RIP Irene you are never far from our thoughts.

  3. This has been a most loving tribute to my dear friend of 48 years. Many tributes to Irene’s generous & loving life have been given & there’s nothing more I can add. The family & friends have truly done her justice. I think we all go away with our living memories. Jackie Das Gupta, Darwin
