  1. What a beautiful celebration of a wonderful life. You did yourself and your Dad beyond proud, Ben. I am sitting here so moved by your words, the remarkable person your Dad was, and the colourful, loving life he led. Every good thing about him lives on in you and your brothers already. He was no ordinary man at all. Go gently with yourself – we love you x

  3. I have some good memories of times spent with John over the last 54 years. From youth club outings, driving our “old bomb” cars and thinking we were so cool, going to dances, very patchy memories of my 21st, guzzling rum, his crazy afghan hound, badminton Tuesday night, lots of laughs, family birthdays, births, weddings, more laughs, new years eve 1979, a few more rums, his cheeky smile, sense of humour, the cups of tea, the Aldi indoctrination speechs, a San Remo holiday, family Christmas’s, the list goes on. We had some good times together John.

  4. What a lovely service. It was so good to hear about John from all the speakers and contributors to the service. I will always remember the time we spent as, ‘across the road’ neighbours in Rutherglen and the good times we shared. Legendary parties including ‘the famous’ party. Thinking of you all. 5. Always full of fun and playfulness. Never an unearned headache. A great friend and neighbour.
    Too soon John.

  6. I have so many wonderful memories of John and the fun times we all had together, especially in Rutherglen. Rest in peace, John. xx

  7. Our sincerest heartfelt condolences to each and everyone affected by the loss of John.
As John’s cousin, I remember our Tuesdays, school holidays and shopping. Loved and remembered with much affection.
