  1. Marg was a dear friend of mine, whom I met while doing library studies at Box Hill. She always saw the best in everyone, worked hard, was extremely proud of her lovely family and always enjoyed a good laugh. You will be greatly missed, RIP Marg

  2. As a volunteer in the Manuscripts Collection at the State Library I had the pleasure of getting to know Marg over the last decade and always enjoyed our conversations about work, family, pets and the problems we we shared with our bad backs. She was a great help to me whenever I needed assistance with my work and it was very clear that she was dedicated to hers. My heartfelt sympathy go to her family, friends and Library colleagues. Marg will be greatly missed.

  3. I was briefly a volunteer in Manuscripts at the SLV and saw Marg once a week for a couple of years. Such a warm and friendly person with stories to tell and a laugh to be had, always welcoming.
    Rest in peace, Marg

  5. Marg was such a beautiful person and a wonderful colleague at work. She was kind, caring and fun to be around. She was so proud of her beautiful family and this always came across in her conversations. I will miss her terribly and I send my deepest condolences to her family and friends.

  6. Marg was such a beautiful soul. When I worked with her at the State Library she was one of the visits I looked forward to in the studio. When I left for the UK, we shared messages and laughter, especially after my son was born. Marg was kind, funny, generous, and full of love and wisdom. My love and condolences to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

  7. Margarete, (as I have always called her), such a beautiful human being.
It has been such a pleasure to know you, laugh with you, work with you, listen and talk to you, receive your beautiful big hugs. You have always been so caring as a colleague and a friend. You were somebody who spoke your truth, weren’t afraid to say as it is. I could be honest with you and we had so much fun while working hard.
You have always talked about your beautiful children and how much you love them and what they mean to you, I could tell you were a beautiful mother. And when I was sometimes sad you were so good to me too, like an older sister. And of course thank you so much for my meaningful wedding present. I will carry you with me.
My deep condolences to your family. You will be missed greatly.

  8. Marg was a dear friend and colleague at the State Library of Victoria. Her warm welcome and making sure we had nice Christmas decorations was a special touch to Bride Level 2, at State Library of Victoria. I still remember her early days at the library when our then manger took her aside and told her in front of other staff, “you are also a mother. You service as a mother comes before the library, I too am a mother and understand what it is to be a mother”. I am glad that Kerrie told her that. Mothers are important to their children. I will miss Marg a lot, although it has been a couple years since I was working at the library, her smile and great work ethic will be always remembered.

  9. What a lovely service for Marg, she will be missed by so many friends at SLV. Sincere condolences.

  10. I am so sorry for your terrible loss. I knew Margaret as Meg, we were best friends in High School and beyond. We had such a wonderful time together growing up living in a flat for the first time, behaving badly and laughing a lot! I moved to Qld in 1980 but thanks to Facebook I was able to follow Meg’s life. I especially enjoyed seeing funny photos of Sable. Meg was a bighearted, loving presence whose absence will be felt by many including me. . .

  11. Marg was such a force of light and laughter. She could lift the mood immediately and often turned a bad day into a good one with a fun chat. She was passionate and worked hard but was always up for a giggle too. She will be missed very much by her colleagues at SLV. My love and condolences to her family and friends xx

  17. Marg was a much-loved colleague and friend of so many at State Library Victoria, and we will miss her very dearly. Her commitment to her work was absolute. She was a passionate advocate for the care of our fragile collections, and people’s access to their wonders. Her great work will go on protecting Victoria’s treasures – and making them discoverable – in to the future. Our hearts go out to all her family and friends, and we send you our very best wishes.

  18. Words cannot pay tribute or truly capture the sense of loss that we are feeling today, as we celebrate the life of our dear SLV colleague, Margaret Sedlins.
Marg saw the best in everyone and played a unique and special role in all our working lives.
She was a loyal colleague and a special friend to many and will be sadly missed by past and present staff.
    RIP Margaret Sedlins.

  19. Marg was a close colleague of mine for more than a decade. She would teach me the inner workings of SLV. She gave wonderful advice in terms of life and happiness. Whenever she came to visit Document Supply she’d bring cheer and laughter. Even though we can no longer decorate the office with Christmas ornaments together. I will always remember and cherish those good times.
