  2. Eunice Barter (eunice_barter@me.com): A memorable service for a memorable person – such a class act! I’ve had the privilege of being wiped off the tennis court by Rosie but that was OK as she also treated us to mouthwatering meringues every Christmas. She will be missed so much in so many ways.

It was a lovely service, a real celebration of Aunty Mavis’ life. So well organised and composed with a lot of love – you’ll have done your mum proud. It was fascinating to see all the old photos and reminisce a long life well lived. Also to realise how strong, brave and resilient she was bringing up a large family as a widow.
We thank her for being a lifelong friend to our mum and dad. I will always remember Aunty Mavis as a fun loving, happy person who was tiny in stature but big in spirit. She was always so well poised and put together till the end.
May she enjoy her new journey and meet up with all her family and friends who have gone before her. She leaves behind happy memories which I hope brings you all some peace in this time of grief.
    R.I.P Aunty Mavis

The words of the Priest relating the incident of your Darling Mum holding on to the Crucfix and refusing to let go is absolutely reassuring of where she is now resting. And her playing the Keyboard brought tears to my eyes.

    1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
    The Comfort of Christ’s Coming
    13. But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.
    15. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18. Therefore comfort one another with this words.
