  28. Whilst we could not be physically present, it was comforting that we could “attend” through the media Michael’s farewell. Nonetheless, the character and nature of the man was communicated. We will miss his companionship and our quite conversations.

  34. A service befitting a lovely man. Thank you to Barbara, and everyone who spoke and made Michael’s life so meaningful to so many more than just the family. What a man.

So good to be part of it.

  35. To The Humphries family

Thank you for the privilege of viewing Michael’s funeral service remotely.

I have been very fortunate to know Michael via ASESK for over 10 years. We had many private ‘Evensong’ discussions on law and criminology as it is taught at Melbourne University. Michael’s advice to me on ‘practical compassion for those unequal in the Law’ will shape my sense of justice and dispensing the Rule of Law for many years to come. I am sure that Michael will receive Eternal Life as a just reward for evermore.

    Yours sincerely
    John Stack

  36. We are sorry that we can’t be with you in person today, but we remember Michael very fondly and we’re also thinking of all the Humphries family.
    With love,
    Andrew

  37. My Uncle Michael was always so sensitive, so kind. He had a passionate engage in life, approaching all matters with a yearning for truth. His searching inward journies were matched by great adventures. I am grateful to have had him in my world and shall always remember him for his genuine sense of family, his dependability and gentle dignity. Dear Michael, you will be missed. <3

  38. I’ve only got fond memories of Michael…quiet, reliable and always interested in others lives. His keen eye for artistic details was a great feature and the close relationship he shared with my mum Jenny.

We once randomly bumped into each other on a tour in Hamburg…I was 20 and a starving backpacker…Michael bought me lovely German lunch!

Will be thinking of Michael and my Melbourne family tomorrow at 11am as I watch proceedings from a nice spot in Tasmania.

    Love
    Chris
