  1. Pete’s passing seems so unrealistic from where I live, almost 16,000 kms away. You and the family will always be united.

  2. Sally, Tessa and Wes what a beautiful warm roll call of tributes to the warmest of souls. From meeting him in Perth in 76 to again in Brisbane with you Sal in 2018, his presence was always bigger than any room he was in. So good to see Ralph’s funny and heartfelt “younger brotherly” tribute too. My memories of him are so vivid he won’t ever be forgotten. Thinking of you Sal. Love to you all. Sean

  3. Very sorry we weren’t able to attend being in remote QLD at the time.

The service is particularly moving and encapsulates Peter’s life superbly.

We first met 38 years ago in James St. Park in Grovedale Road Surrey Hills. We got on very well and the more we had to do with each, the stronger our friendship became. We celebrated helped each other celebrate significant birthdays due to both of us being born in 1952. We even bought MX-5’s independently but at the same time resulting in Mazda Meander weekends which commenced in May 2008.

I loved many things about Peter especially his sense of humour. He had an enviable skill with words both orally and in the written form. It was great to experience his joy in his burgeoning painting career later in life.

    He will be sorely missed.

  4. Our apologies we were unable to attend the service in person, what a special tribute to a man greatly missed and remembered. Lots of love to Sally, Wes, Tessa & family from The Green Store girls
    Kasie, Rhonda & Steph ♥️

  5. Beautiful and profound tribute by Peter’s family and friends. A true celebration of a kind, generous-spirited man with a dry wit. But at the same time, an expression of how deep is Pete’s tragic loss to Sally, family and his community. And to his friends. – Linda Wayman

  9. What a great man and we had so many great moments at Ansett you were a master. I watched the service from Bangkok and enjoyed every second.

  10. Such a lovely tribute to a true gentleman, admired and respected by all who knew him. Much love to you Sally, to Peter’s family and many, many friends. A pleasure to have helped with a few of those plane trips over the years. He will be a sorely missed presence in Trentham.

  11. It was wonderful to be able to join you all from Bunbury today for Pete’s celebratory livestream, and to share in so many richly-earned tributes to his special place in this world. I treasure fond memories of our loved cousin Pete growing up in his Perth years, from cricket on our back lawn, across the years to the warm hospitality of his own family home in Melbourne. My deep condolences to Sally, Tessa, Wes, and all the Young and Russell families. You are in my thoughts and prayers at this sad time. May Pete’s long legacy of fun, creativity and love for people, and especially for his family, be a source of consolation to you! May he rest in peace, borne up by the everlasting arm of God. Love to all, Anne xx

  12. A wonderful celebration of Pete’s life. It was a privilege to know the man and to see so many others touched by his unique sense of humour and his overall brilliance in everything he did. To all the family, please accept our deepest condolences.

  13. Dear Sally,

We have been watching the memorial service from our camper trailer at Brunswick Heads.
While we watched i thought of all the wonderful times we have had since meeting you both in 1982.

  17. Sally, Wes and Tess. What an enormous and far too early demise of this beautiful man.

Sally, your 46 years with Peter WAS a lifetime. You had an unusually loving partnership, something I haven’t seen many in other couples. Peter adored you!

I loved every minute of Peter’s memorial service (except perhaps the Hawks theme at the end). I hope that when my time comes I will have an equally joyous farewell party!
