  1. Will miss our many laughs and conversations over the past two years caring for you Stephen. I miss you and think of you every day. May you finally be free of the pain you suffered daily without complaint. Condolences to your family who were much loved by you and who gave you so much support.

  2. Stephen was a valued friend who inspired and lifted spirits of dialysis patients at RDU. Everyone who met him enjoyed his comforting words, happy disposition and positivity. He was a very bright spark in the unit in an otherwise somber space.
    I will also miss the shared posts and messages via Instagram.

  15. The service was perfect, so heartfelt and moving. Annette your Eulogy was beautiful …it captured the very special person Stephen was. I loved hearing about his childhood and Steve’s mischievous side.
    Father young spoke so well too. Obviously Steve had touched his heart.
    Steve did have a huge cross to bear most of his life, but always protected others from knowing how hard his life was, always thinking of others.
    I will treasure the memories of my friendship with Steve and be forever grateful we met 44 years ago.

  18. Dear Annette, Sue, John and all,
    Thank you for making it possible to join you at Stevo’s funeral. It is still so hard to comprehend that Stevo has died, possibly because his spirit has always shone so brightly.

    I feel privileged and will always be grateful for having such a remarkable and beautiful human being as my friend. Stevo has a very special place deep in my heart.

  24. VALE my darling, angel, sweetheart, treasure Meese. As I said at your 50th Birthday, to know you is to love you. I will miss your ‘books’ via texts full of humour, wisdom, care, inspiration and love. My phone feels very vacant without you. A bright light has gone out in our world but will burn brightly in our hearts always. Thank you for your friendship, and for being an integral part of my life and my days for over four decades. Those with whom you crossed paths in this lifetime are indeed blessed.

    That was a beautiful service. We are deeply saddened by the loss of your brother, uncle and friend to those who new him.

    We can hold true to the Gods promise, at Revelation 21:3,4
    “God … will wipe out every rear from their eyes and death will be no more , nor outcry, nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
    No more sickness or suffering of any kind.

    We hope this give you some comfort during this difficult time.

    He will be truly missed and our heart and prayers go out to you and your family.

    I first met Steve as a young lad embarking on his dialysis journey,at the Austin a truly remarkable human being who faced any challenge with humor, laughter and determination.I will miss exchanging Christmas greetings with him over the previous 40 years
