I want to express my heartfelt sorrow for the passing of Sumith
The man I knew had a spirit of life that encompassed everything he did
His big personality, generous heart and sense of humour were some of the qualities that endeared him to so many
He loved his family more than anything and as a colleague of some ten years I can attest to the many times he spoke so warmly and fondly of his closest and dearest loved ones
Infuriating as he could be sometimes at the end of it all Sumith came from a place of genuine kindness and sincerity
I will indeed miss his presence, his booming voice, his laughter, his great cooking, his travel tales and updates on the grandchildren
May he know everlasting peace and tranquility and may there be comfort and serenity for all those who mourn his passing

My very deepest sympathies to the entire family… U. Sumith was honestly such an amazing person, I only met him a few times but he always seemed to be like an old friend, who I could sit back with and not just have serious conversations, but more often, share crazy rowdy stories where he would often burst out into a bellowing laugh. The part about the food and the scotch with no coke was spot on. The only time I have ever got fatter in my life is after spending just two weeks with him and aunty.
I also absolutely loved his relationship with A. Gillian, they would be jokingly ribbing each other all the time, but on so many occasions (during our many conversations) he would sit with me and tell me what an absolutely amazing person she was (not that I needed convincing of that). And yes, he never stopped talking about his kids, and (especially?) his grandkids. My heart goes out to all of you. He was clearly not just a fantastic husband, father and friend, but also just an overall amazing human being who would have been loved by anyone who got to know him.

Not enough times I got to enjoy the company of Uncle Sumith each year, but knowing that he would be at family gatherings would quickly bring a smile to my face. Sumith, I was blessed with the wonderful privilege of you and your wonderful families Sincere and humble friendships . Never will be forgotten. Rest in heavenly peace.
My very deepest sympathies to the entire family… U. Sumith was honestly such an amazing person, I only met him a few times but he always seemed to be like an old friend, who I could sit back with and not just have serious conversations, but more often, share crazy rowdy stories where he would often burst out into a bellowing laugh. The part about the food and the scotch with no coke was spot on. The only time I have ever got fatter in my life is after spending just two weeks with him and aunty.
I also absolutely loved his relationship with A. Gillian, they would be jokingly ribbing each other all the time, but on so many occasions (during our many conversations) he would sit with me and tell me what an absolutely amazing person she was (not that I needed convincing of that). And yes, he never stopped talking about his kids, and (especially?) his grandkids. My heart goes out to all of you. He was clearly not just a fantastic husband, father and friend, but also just an overall amazing human being who would have been loved by anyone who got to know him.

Not enough times I got to enjoy the company of Uncle Sumith each year, but knowing that he would be at family gatherings would quickly bring a smile to my face. Uncle Sumith would effortlessly raise the spirits of a room with his silver tongue and kind hearted demeanour, never failing to bring the room to hysterical laughter in the process. Knowing that I won’t hear him call me son, tell me that he misses us, taste his delicious cooking or share a laugh with him saddens me beyond belief.
