  7. Was so lovely to hear Johnathon speak so eloquently about Uncle Vince and his wonderful life and family. Chris would have been so proud.
So sad that we all couldn’t share this together, all our stories and laughs about him helping, or building or making, there are hundreds…and always a sense of fun or a humorous antidote that went along with whatever was happening.
My first car, my first day at the Caulfield races, I could go on and on. He lived life to the full, and had so much to live for.
He will be very much missed.

  8. Dear Marie,
With much pride, I recall that day in early 1951 when Vin and I met; young teenagers sitting in the front row of the chemistry theatre at Bendigo School of Mines. Then sharing our family similarities – farming life in particular. Vin continued with his career as an engineer whilst I went on to education. We shared a wonderful, valued companianship which continued during our busy lives and on with our own families’ history. I will so miss our get togethers and regular phone calls. Vin, thanks for your friendship, a treasure for me to keep, Don Watson

  20. Dear Marie, Fran, Tony, Megan and families. It is with such sadness that I write this. Vin has always been such an important a part of my life, both as one half of my much loved Godparents and as the dearest friend of my Dad. Thinking back on all those wonderful family holidays together when young and the treasured times we have spent reconnecting in recent years, Vin’s joyful chuckle stands out, along with his smart, collared shirts, his beautiful smile and his cheeky sense of humour. He truly was the absolute gentleman, so mannered, so wise, so knowledgeable and so genuinely interested in others. What a huge gap he will leave in this world for you, and for all. Words can’t express how sad I am for you today. With much love. Susan Doyle (Watson)
