What a gorgeous tribute full of so much love and happiness, sounds like an awesome dad indeed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Hannah – Shelley’s friend.
My condolences to Val and family,
I too was at school with Leigh, and fondly remember his spirited involvement in so many aspects of our schooldays.
We have caught up many time over the years with some common friends, and indeed family.
He will be sorely missed at the regular NRA lunches, although his love and invincible spirit and enthusiasm will remain with us all forever.
I could not make it in-person, but really appreciated hearing you all speak so lovingly of his superman life.
This was a wonderful service.
Regards, Randall Pearce

Dear Val, Jillie, Margie and all your families – I first met Leigh when he came to Metung with Jillie and my brother Geoff before they were married. He was only a teenager, but already he had a fantastic personality, and I am not surprised that he was always such a uniquely clever, “larger than life” figure! A mate of mine had taught Leigh at Melbourne Grammar and I gather he was not the greatest maths student?? I asked the fellow how Leigh was going at school – and my friend had sent Leigh to “time out” that very day! He said he despaired for the future lol!! I laughed as I could well imagine Leigh kicking up if the work were boring etc.
In the years later, when Leigh was such a successful businessman, I would have loved to have told that teacher how Leigh’s career had turned out, but by then I had lost all contact. Another time I vividly recall [apart from family gatherings etc] was when I was working in Government Employee Housing in Ormond as a real estate sales agent. I came back from lunch to see Leigh in deep conversation with “the boss”. THAT negotiation turned out to be a gutsy purchase of a primary school site that Buxtons could later sell for a huge profit. Leigh saw opportunities and he had the ability to seize them!
The readings were all beautifully spoken by Leigh’s children and the photos were great to see, today. Forgive me for not being with you, but I have really significant mobility issues right now, and traveling from Gippsland is harder for me. Thank you for making it possible for me to “attend” the funeral of a lovely, decent bloke like Leigh Hallamore. You have every good reason to be very proud of him- and we were lucky to have known him.
To Val and family
