Please see below some of the most frequently asked questions that we receive:

Photographic Tributes / AV Files / Music

Can you use YouTube or Spotify for music?

Unfortunately, due to licensing agreements, we are unable to use YouTube or Spotify for music and are only able to source music from iTunes.

Please do not worry though – music that is found on YouTube or Spotify might be obtainable from iTunes, so feel free to send reference links.

We will let you know if we are unable to source a particular song from iTunes – but if this is the case, you are more than welcome to send the audio file (.mp3) of said song to us.

Can you download YouTube videos for use in a photographic tribute or the general service?

Unfortunately, due to fair use laws, we are unable to download YouTube videos for use in a service.

How do I send files (photos, videos, word documents, PDF files, etc.) to you?

If you have photos, videos, or other files that you need to send to us, you can head over to our Digital Pigeon page.

Here, you will be able to send files to us directly and, if need be, watch a tutorial to assist you in the upload process.

Please know that you will need to keep your device awake (screen on and on the webpage) whilst the upload is in progress.

How much music do I need for a photographic tribute?

The amount of music recommended for a photographic tribute is based on the number of photos to be displayed throughout said tribute.

The general rule of thumb: for every 10 photos, we recommend one minute of music.

How do I download the files you send to me for review?

Downloads for any files sent to you through Digital Pigeon will become enabled once we have received approval from yourself, or have proceeded with the finalisation of the files in question.

How many photos should I include in a photographic tribute?

The number of photos to be included in the photographic tribute is entirely up to you to decide.

Typically, a photographic tribute will feature anywhere from 40-80 photos.

Can you place the photos, to be featured in a photographic tribute, in chronological order for us?

Due to time constraints, if you would like photos to be displayed in a particular order, we do require that said photo files are named in numeric order to reflect the aforementioned order.

How do we number our photos?

To number your photos in order you will need to rename all digital images as 1, 2, 3 and so on. If you need to insert a photo between two previously-renamed images, you can use a number and letter such as 1a, 1b, 1c and so on.

I have hard-copy photos I would like to include in the photographic tribute; how might I be able to send them to you?

If you have hard-copy photos that you would like to have displayed in a print or photographic tribute, you are more than welcome to deliver the photos to our office in Baxter, your funeral home, or take photos of the photos in a well-lit environment, and send those photos to us.

How do we order hard-copy photos?

To order hard-copy photos, you will place a post-it note on the back of each image with the number appointed to that image, reflecting your desired order.

What do we do if we have hard-copy and digital photos that we want in chronological order?

To number hard copy photos and digital photos, follow the steps of the previous three questions; ensuring the numbers on the hard-copy photos and digital photos align to form the order you would like.

What is a hold screen?

A hold screen is the holding slide that resides on the TV screen for the duration of the service. A hold screen generally includes an image of your loved one, their name and the words ‘In loving memory of’.

Printed Stationery

Can I mix-and-match aspects of different samples for my booklet/card?

You most certainly can! The sample designs found on our website should only serve as a guideline/inspiration for your desired design. You can either choose all aspects of one particular design, or different aspects from multiple samples.

Can I send more than one photo?

You can most certainly send more than one photo.

Is there a limit to how many photos I can upload at once?

You can upload as many photos as you need, to us, at any given time.

Please note, however, that sending photos over email does induce a limit – but sending through our Digital Pigeon link does not have a limit.

Can you edit my photos?

Yes, we can do minor and some major editing. Should you require editing please indicate when sending your image through. Major editing is done Tuesday – Thursday.

Step-by-step guide to our services

We understand that this time can be extremely overwhelming for you and your loved ones. That is why we have created this step-by-step guide on the stages that make up our production process:

  1. You will send across all images and content required for the stationery of your loved one,
  2. Your designers will compose and send draft(s) for you to look over and review,
  3. If applicable, you can advise us of any amendments you would like made to the aforementioned drafts by contacting us via email (ideally in a reply to the draft email sent by us in the previous step), or by phone (our number is 9585 2089),
  4. Once you are happy with the outcome of the draft(s), you can officially approve them via email or phone,
  5. We will send you an invoice for payment of the stationery,
  6. Once payment has been received, we will deliver the materials to the nominated address.
