After watching the service online, if you can leave a guest message to let the family know you have joined into the service, that would be greatly appreciated.
We were saddened to hear of David’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this very difficult time. What a beautiful service for a true gentleman.

Dear Fay, Stuart, Scott and all your family or thoughts were with you all!
We were so sorry to hear of your sad loss. It was 30 years ago when we first met David, and he then left a lasting impression, of a wonderful son, and brother. The Service was beautiful and the eulogies so touching. Our condolences to you all.
Pam and Patrick in the UK.
It was such a privilege to watch David’s funeral here in South Africa via video link – Thank you.
Although I haven’t seen any of you for many years, Aunty Jan (Fay’s sister/my mom) keeps me up to date with all of the wonderful stories of David’s success, his amazing children and wife, who I am so sad not to have met.
The memories I have of David are lovely ones. His caring was always disguised as teasing, yet, as light-hearted and playful as David was, I always felt his deep caring and generous spirit whenever I was around him. His wonderful sense of humour kept me laughing whenever I was visiting – these were times I looked forward to and cherished.
I know David will be so missed by all of you – his children, soul mate, mother and brothers – but his legacy will live on in your smiles and laughter and in your living up to the example he has set.
Sending love and comfort across the miles.
Warm regards
Clare
My deepest condolences to Claire, Tom, Jack, Finlay, Lucia and Faye.
We have so many wonderful memories of our lives together, and dozens of photos which will keep him in our hearts and minds forever. We are all better people for having David in our lives
To the extended Macrae family
I am so saddened to hear of Dave’s early passing. I spent a lot of time standing next to him at first slip for Old Carey and he was truly one of the legends of Old Carey cricket. Much admired and respected by team mates and opponents alike he was above all else one of the best people I have known and he will be sadly missed.
So saddened by the loss of this great man – a wonderful uncle to Alex and Drew. Many great and funny memories .. they can’t ever be taken away. We wish the family strength to get through this sad and difficult time.
The eulogies were a real and true representation of his life and loves. I will always remember him calling everyone “Polks”

Dear Claire, Tom, Jack, Finlay and Lucia. Thank you for live streaming the service for David today and sharing the celebration of his life. And what a life it has been, always with that happy broad smile for everyone around him. He was so full of life and will be missed by all who knew him. ‘Back yourself’ is one of the so , so many things he gave us. Our love to you all at such a sad time. Jay Bethell and Peter Smart
Our deepest condolences to you all on the loss of this wonderful man David. He will live forever in our hearts and in our minds as we look back fondly on the photos, the laughter, the dinners, and all the memories we all shared.
David, I hope that you, and Joe, get to share a drink together again, argue over footy teams, Italian food and reminisce of our times a time long ago.
Saddened to hear of David’s passing. Knew him as a classmate at school and on the cricket field for the 1st XI and at Old Carey where we played together for many years. Huge respect for his skills and his calm and astute leadership. My thoughts are with all of the family.

To the Macrae Family, I met David when he commenced work at Stockdale and Leggo in Wantirna about 36 years ago. As a conveyancer our paths crossed a couple of times and he was always the same David. So much fun to be with and always the stirrer. I am so sorry to hear of his passing and have fond memories of him. Love and prayers to you all.
It was with great sadness that I heard of David’s death. In the few times I did have with David I found him such an easy guy to get to know – interesting and interested and a great sense of humour. In no time I felt totally relaxed with him like a long lost friend. I wish I had had more time with him but life is unpredictable. He shall be greatly missed by all those who know him. I can’t imagine how much more his family friends will miss him – my thoughts are with you. Bye David – I hope we catch up again some day. Bill Layton
Dear Tom, Jack, Claire, Finlay and Lucia,
My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Whilst I haven’t seen David for a long time, I have such happy memories of a fun loving man, with a great heart. He was kind and caring. We lived through some great times, and some challenging times, as good friends.
He is now in heaven, talking footy and having a beer with my Danny. Both gone too soon.
Love Pauline Porter xx
Claire – a great send-off for your old boy – a much loved character and one of the funniest.
I’m picturing that wicked grin and a quiet dig that was straight to the point. He could suss out any baloney in half a second and had no problem calling it – but always with humour.
The poor bloke had to sit next to me at the Zig Inge Christmas Lunch year after year – I have a total sports bypass – but despite that was always entertaining, generous and keenly insightful.
I had the pleasure of his company on many PTG training walks and have copped a serve from him on more than one occasion for getting him lost, exhausted, home late, overheated or freezing. I will miss that.
You will miss him terribly, but I know your strong family will help you bear the loss.
It was a pleasure to have known David and will fondly remember the many hours spent playing cricket together at Old Carey. The eulogies said it all and summed up a life well lived but so sadly cut short.
Dear Claire, Finlay, Lucia, Tom, Jack and the rest of David’s family.
It was a lovely service for a very much loved gentleman. Our thoughts are with you all during this incredibly sad time. We hope that you can take some comfort from all of the lovely memories that you have created together.
Thank you so much for making it possible to say goodbye to one of my oldest and dearest friends “Uncle David” via video link. Peters Eulogy was truly an honour to his best friend ‘ Macca ‘ would be proud . My deepest condolences to Claire, Tom, Jack, Finlay, Lucia and Faye.

To Clair & family, Fay, Scott & Stewart and families,
My heartfelt condolences to you with David’s passing. From Sunday School muck-ups, to Dromana summer fun, to the best Cricket captain & wicket-keeper I ever had, Dave was an inspiration, a leader, and above all, a friend and mate.
It was a privilege and honour to have grown up with, shared early days, and known Dave.
May God grant you His peace and comfort at this time, and the days ahead.
Dear Claire, Jack, Tom, Finlay, Lucia, and the Macrae family, Monica and the Willaton family, heartfelt sympathy to you all. To know him was to love him. So good to see his shining example lives on through his family.

Dear Macrae family
Sorry to hear of your loss. David was a dream parent who would do anything to help the kids (not just his) and was selfless with his time and efforts. As President of Deepdene Bears I got to know David as a parent at the Bears and President at Rovers and we had a great connection talking sport and family as my mother Margaret Paterson worked at Carey with Fay. God Bless you all in this difficult time and remember his love for you

Our heartfelt deepest condolences to you all.
David was a great man who will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

Dear Claire & family, my condolences to you all. Today’s memories of David are as strong as when we were at school together, playing cricket and as my captain of the 1st XI in 1977. I am saddened but enriched to have known him. With great fondness.
