  1. Bourkie, a beautiful, gentle, kind man whose wisdom and kindness touched so many hearts. You will be sadly missed. Sending absolute love in abundance to all the Bourkies.
Warmth from our hearts to yours, Georgie, Steven & David Cooper

  2. Vale Bourkey,

It was a pleasure and privilege to have worked with you as teaching colleague and to have counted you as a friend during our time at Hunters. You were a great mentor for young teachers like myself and your pragmatic and practical approch to teaching and working with teenagers influenced many. I fondly remember your dry sense of humour and appreciate your support and friendship at Huntingdale.

Sincerest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the Bourke family

  3. Beautiful encapsulation of the rich and varied life of Des Bourke. The service honoured his ability to connect and retain contact with nature, and his beloved Woods Point. Also the powerful, long lasting impact he had on all the people who walked alongside him, family, friends, and all of the teachers and the many students he encountered on ‘his journey’.

  4. What a great celebration of a life well lived. Everyone spoke so fondly of Des and everyone who knew him would concur with the warm sentiments spoken. I was so lucky to have known him for the last 20 years, I just wish I’d met him earlier in life. Warm regards. Vale Des

  12. So sorry to hear of Des’s passing. I taught and played golf with Des in Yarrawonga. He was such a character as well as being a big teddy bear to my kids when they were little.
