  1. On behalf of Ewha college of music, we send our deepest condolences. The teaching of Professor Underwood will forever be part of our department’s spirit and ethos. As a missionary, she has greatly impacted the development of church music in Korea. Her works as a professor and director of church music will continue to guide us. May she rest in peace.

  2. Thanks to all involved in the service to celebrate the life & witness of Dorothy Underwood. Ten years after her return to Melbourne she came regularly to meetings of National Council of Women as the representative of the Uniting Church Adult Fellowship. I was privileged to come under. her influence. Thanks to those who in 2009 celebrated the 120 years of the Australian Mission to Korea by publishing the bilingual ‘Saving Grace’: the stories of those who went as missionaries to Korea.

  3. Dear Peter, We thank God for and celebrate her life with you. We join you in mourning her loss. May the comforting God who is able to bring healing from pain, embrace you and the rest of your family as you continue mourning her passing. May her soul rest in perfect peace with the Lord.

  4. I confess that the time I spent with you was so precious. I pray to see you again in heaven.
    I love you.

My sincere, deepest condolences to you and your family.

Unfortunately (entirely my fault) I did not have or did not try to have more time with Dorothy
    to get to know her.

I respected her for enormous devotion to Koreans, Korean churches, Ihwa and Korean community.

I understand, while she was in Korea for 44 years and worked for music organisations, churches, disadvantaged women and more. She loved Korean and it’s culture.. I thank her for her contributions.

We lost an individual who was kind, giving, loving and most of all her devotion to her God.

I know it is sad that we are no longer see her smile and are no longer speak with her, however,
    She is with her God!

Dorothy (gift joy from God), I know you are enjoying your God’s closeness, go in peace and have a beautiful eternal life!1

    With respect,

    Ms Sohwon Kim

  9. A very memorable and moving service for our beloved Dorothy. Thank you, Diana and Lyn, for arranging it so beautifully. With my husband Paul and our two sons (Matthew and James), we are united with you and your family in sorrow of Dorothy’s passing but also in joy for her entry into God’s heavenly kingdom. To me Dorothy was an angel sent from God. She was my most influential teacher in music, greatest mentor, and beloved friend. Without her I wouldn’t be here today. Her legacy of good works with her devoted life of service and faith has deeply touched us all. We are forever grateful to her. Dorothy, we love you. May you rest in peace.

  10. Thank you for being a wonderful teacher. You will always be in my heart.
May you rest in peace in God’s heaven.

    선생님 사랑하고 고맙습니다.

I personally appreciate you and your family’s kind love for Koreans and Korea as missionary on the Korean peninsula.
