  1. Chris was a great thinker and leader with a quick wit and deep commitment to improving the health of the people of Victoria. After a little while many of us learned his regular greeting of “Ah look – a savings opportunity waiting to be realized” was actually an invitation to join a discussion on the policy issue of the day or week.
Best wishes to his family at this difficult time.

  2. I just wanted to pay my respects to Chris’s family and friends. I worked with Chris over the last five years in clinical trials, and I wanted to say how wonderful he was, how incredibly brilliant he was and how much I will miss him. I am proud to have known him.

  3. Chris’s humanity, complexity and brilliance was wonderfully expressed at the celebration of his life.
He was eclectic, loyal and stupendous at guiding health system reform in Victoria and beyond.

  4. The celebration of Chris’s life completely captured his humanity, complexity and brilliance. Eclectic, loyal, direct and treasured. There’s no more one can add to the remarks made about his excellence in steering so many aspects of the health system, and the manner in which he did it.
There was never a dull moment when working with him.
    Regards and sympathy.

  5. It was a beautiful service today, and speakers reflected Chris’ impact and personality so well. Alan and I would have loved to attend in person, but unfortunately could not make it. We are grateful that the live-streaming service was available, and send our thanks to Chris’ sons, sisters, colleagues and friends who eloquently shared their memories. Vale Chris. Your rich legacy will endure, and not be forgotten.
