  13. I have known Andy for over 30 years and he became a friend and also he emerged like a father figure and mentor. Always wise with a sensible head on his shoulders, Andy influenced me in so many ways, through relationship matters and also in business and financial areas as well.

The art of guiding is not to tell, but to make observations and when the teacher arrives, the student shows up. That was Andy and I.

I have learnt so much from Andy. He was a special friend to me over a long time. He had the most sincere heart and was always a gentleman in the true sense of the word.

My heart and sincere thoughts go out to Chris, Olga, Joanna, Nic and Jimmy and to everyone in Andy’s life.

I will miss you my friend.

    With deepest sympathy and respect.

From Neil Damerow and extended family.

  16. It is with great sadness that I’ve to pen down this message to my beloved “foster Dad” and fondly known to me as Andy. I knew Andy and the loving Hatzipanagiotis family when I first stepped onto the Monash University Caulfield soil as a foreign student from Malaysia back then in Year 1996.
I recalled clearly that I was scouting for a part time job to earn some extra pocket money and Andy was kind enough to offer me a job in his warm family owned Cafe inside Monash University. I pretty much knew he doesn’t need anymore workers but he was empathetic enough to help me generously. Thereafter, the relationship grew from being a mere employee to friend and later as a buddy. In fact, Andy and his family had never treated me as employee before but more of another family member.
We shared many happy moments together …Friday Mens Night with Andy, Jimmy and Nick; had great dinners and visits to many interesting places.
Andy was there to volunteer his help when my family members paid a visit to Melbourne during my semester break and he was the man in my life sending me off back to Malaysia when I completed my studies in Year 1997.
My only regret is that I didn’t have a chance to revisit Victoria and to pay a visit to my dear Andy and his family. Andy, I owe you a debt of gratitude forever and I am sure you are now back to where GOD wants you to be and closer to Him. Forever remembering you Andy..Love Marcus Wong
