Dear Lucinda and Family
Thank you so much for sharing the service with me. I have many wonderful memories of Genevieve from my time in Australia at ACO. From day one at the ACO in Genevieve I knew I had a committed knowledge seeker, an inspirational care giver, a passionate advocate for justice and a friend. A friend who would insist I defend my management decisions, a friend who would insist on my commitment to care and a friend who would back my clinical governance agenda. I learned much about the Aboriginal Community from Genevieve and deeply respected her for what she sought to provide. On a personal note I am so thankful that as life drew to a close she was increasingly at peace with her creator and had found solace in her newfound friendship with her saviour. Thank you Genevieve.
God bless
JJ

The very moving tributes from her colleagues, family and friends show the impact she has had on her family, her patients and her professional community. You are so justifiably proud of your daughter.

My initial impressions of Genevieve when I first met her ..oh! see is a shy reserved person! But! she had a keen sense of humuor and a surprising sense of adventure (to me!)
It was always a pleasure to talk to her at family events and Inverloch stays! :))
Bless you all. All our love.

A lovely moving service it was. Genevieve was such an amazing person. Please take comfort in the fact that Genevieve was well loved and will be sadly missed. May God bless you all in time of sadness.
I met Genevieve when she was our visiting optometrist at BADAC. She was such a dedicated worker ensuring our Aboriginal community had access to eye services. She also helped with us receiving a retinal camera. She was always willing to answer any of my questions and try to accomodate needs of our community. As people have said she came across as serious but I had many laughs with her along the way. Thank you Genevieve for all the effort and love that you put into our community. I will miss you.
Sincere condolences to her family.
Jo Warren (Ballarat & District Aboriginal Cooperative)
Beautiful service for someone who did so much for her fellow human beings. She is an example to us all of how we should live our lives. Thinking of you Julian and family and sending our hugs and love. Michael & Elena

Farewell Genevieve. Sincerest condolences to family and friends. I was lucky enough to work with Genevieve for a short time – even in her last months, she was still doing so much. The world was a better place with her.

Your passion for eye care and public health has always been an inspiration to me. I will always remember your compassion, kindness and sense of humour. Thank you so much for your friendship over the many years. Thank you for always being you!
Thank you for allowing me to be part of such a beautiful service. My deepest condolences to you all at this very sad time. I worked with Genevieve at the ACO including many VOS trips away together in Albury/Wodonga and the Grampians. She was a sensational optometrist, friend and mentor and the world is better off because of her great work. She always spoke very highly and fondly of her family.
My sincere condolences for your loss. Genevieve will be remembered in so many ways both professionally and personally. Her immense passion, courage and friendship was humbling.

She made a significant difference to the world in so many ways. She always spoke so lovingly of her family. May she now rest in blissful peace.
To Julian and family,
my deepest and most heartfelt condolences on the loss of our amazing Geneneive xoxo
Genevieve was one in a million,. Always incredibly passionate and dedicated, always lending an ear or sharing her wisdoms and supporting others, always showing compassion and being a voice for those less advantaged, and wanting to contribute wherever she could….all of which remained unfettered and unfaltering throughout her illness.
Genevieve was always so ‘present’ on committees and advisory groups, conferences and professional gatherings, that her absence is so hugely felt all the more.
On a personal note, I will never forget nor fail to appreciate the constant support, mentoring and encouragement she has given me, and the impact she has had on my life. I will miss her greatly.
Sending all my love and sympathies,
Chris Rektsinis – Eye Health Project Officer, The Aboriginal Health Council of South Australia

I first met Genevieve in 1997 when I moved to Australia to work at the VCO. She took me under her wing and we had many happy trips into the beautiful countryside. I shared her flat for my last couple of years and she flew to the UK for my wedding in 2000. We have stayed friends ever since. Her passion was inspirational, sense of adventure stimulating and her friendship invaluable
God bless
