  1. To Geoff’s family and friends I send my sincere condolences and although I cannot be there to celebrate the life of my old mate Geoff, I would like to share just a few thoughts and what Geoff meant to me.
I have known Geoff since we started work together over 45 years ago at Millers Transport and Green Freight, and although we went off in our own work directions over the years, we have remained good mates ever since. From the time we met until the end he always called me “Digger” and I loved it.
We both worked long hard hours on the road and while many of us felt the impact of the job, Geoff always did it with a smile, never complain and always a bloody positive attitude, and taught others how to be a good person.
He told many a good story, and jokes. He loved Spike Milligan and I remember him over the UHF radio as we were driving along, the constant Spike Jokes, would come across the radio, and although back then and being a bit younger that Geoff, I didn’t have a clue who Spike Milligan was, I would laugh at them anyway. I didn’t have the heart to tell him I didn’t get the jokes or who Spike Milligan was.
Geoff was a bit older and wiser than me, and I learnt so much from him over the years, his friendship had a huge impact on me, not only around work, but with life itself. I am a far better person for knowing Geoff.
As time went on, we didn’t get to see as much of each other as we used to but still kept in touch and caught up from time to time. No matter how long between catch ups, it was like we saw each other yesterday.
Geoff was the best work mate ever and I have so many great memories that will stick with me always.
The boys from Millers and Greenfreight also pass on their condolences to Geoff’s family.
And from me – Claire and girls, I am thinking of you as we all say farewell to the best bloke ever.
Heartfelt sympathy, form John, Silv and the Folan family.
    RIP “DIGGER”

I was saddened to hear of Geoff’s passing. Please accept my sincere condolences. I was unable to attend the service in person but am grateful that I was able to watch on line. I was truly impressed by the calibre of the presentations by your family members and the manner with which the service was conducted.

    Kind Regards
