  1. Dear Amy
I was away in FNQ last week but very much appreciated the opportunity to stream this and to get to know your Geoff, at least in part. What a man. I am so sorry for your huge loss.
    My very warmest of regards,
    Eddie BB

  2. Amy…a stunning and beautiful tribute to Geoff.
You conveyed his essence so wonderfully. I am in awe.

  3. Thankyou for sharing this beautiful celebration of Geoff’s life with us on the other side of the world. It was very moving and befitting of the beautiful man that he will always be remembered as.

  4. I met Geoff through Mal, Rosalind etc., in about 1986 when I would spend school hols at my grandparents house in Canberra. It was always a joy to spend time with Geoff on these holidays, at parties, hanging out at Civic, at gigs and galleries.

When Geoff moved to Sydney in 1988, he was kind enough to accompany me to my year 12 formal at the last minute. He was gracious and sweet and our group of arty introverts had a wonderful time together. Because of geographical distance, I’ve only seen Geoff a few times over the past decades but it was always great to catch up when we did see each other. I feel very lucky to have spent some virtual time with him in April on a friends Zoom chat.

Amy and Caitlin, I’m so very sorry for your immense loss. I send my heartfelt condolences to you both, and also to Geoff’s family and friends. Geoff was truly one of the good ones. I feel very lucky to have known him. xx

  5. Thoughts are with Family and Friends
Still remember going over to the Cowap family home while in primary school with Geoff, and being amazed at the science lessons we would be taught ( the little black cubes that would they would light to erupt into “Snakes”).
Even though we drifted apart , i always remember and valued the friendship i shared with Geoff at school , and remember him as a kind and gentle soul that always had time for you .

Rest easy my friend , you were taken too soon.

  6. Amy, I was honoured to be present at the celebration of your Geoff’s life. An honourable human being in all the roles he played and played so well, in his unassuming manner. The tributes were beyond beautiful from such a range of people in Geoff’s life and so richly deserved. There is so much more I learned today about Geoff that I did not know. Physically out of range but in your and Caitlin’s heart and our heart forever. ❤️

  8. What a beautiful ceremony to celebrate Geoff, his life & legacy. We will be thinking of him on his latest adventure, just out of reach. So much love to you Amy, Caitlin & family.
We couldn’t be there in person but were definitely there in spirit and very grateful for the livestream.
Lots of love, Susie, Paolo & Maeve xxx.

  9. Once again, we are so sad not to have been there in person with you today. It was a beautiful celebration of Geoff’s life and we loved hearing all the stories shared by friends, family and colleagues. A wonderful, well loved man and a life well lived. Biggest love to you Amy and Caitlin, and we hope to see you very soon.
    Kathy and Franny xxxxxxoooooo

  10. Thank you for sharing so many lovely, if poignant, memories of Geoff’s life so well lived. We are devastated he is no longer here. There is howling in the mountains ⛰

  11. So proud of my dear friend Amy for pulling this wonderful, eloquent collection of tributes together from family and dear friends– each spoken, despite terrible grief, with humour and grace on the incomparable Geoff.

Thankyou so much for arranging online access for those like me who could not be there.

  12. What life, what love. May you smile and laugh through your tears when you think of Geoff, out of range and on his greatest adventure.

  13. I have known Geoff since i started working at Six Degrees. I have always admired Geoff as a senior colleague. He had the most incredible work ethic and dedication and love for his work, something I always tried to learn from and replicate in some way. He was one of the kindest people I’ve ever met and was such a positive and calming energy.

We miss you dearly Geoff… Rest in peace… Au revoir…

Sending my heartfelt condolences Amy, Caitlin, family, and friends of Geoff.

  14. Geoff was a beautiful man and partner to our dear friend Amy and beautiful girl, Caitlin. Sending all our love to the family and friends of this special man. Joining online due to sick child at home but there in spirit. All our love, Lizey & Cleo xxxxxxxxxxx

  15. Geoff was a good friend at CGS, we participated in many sailing, cross country skiing, snow camping and bushwalking adventures together. His father (also Geoff) designed the springbank class of sailing boat, named after an island we often sailed around. Although i live in Sydney, I was fortunate to be able to meet up with Geoff in 2021 in Fitzroy and hear an update about his life and family. Most of the photos I have of Geoff would be pre-digital; a simpler time, I’m fairly sure I even have some super 8 footage of Geoff telemark skiing. He enjoyed the wilderness, was liked by all, was a gentle, kind, thoughtful person with a ready sense of humour. I will miss Geoff as will all of his school friends. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

  16. Geoff was an old school mate of mine. I was fortunate to have spent time with him as a teammate in our world beating under 12’s Rugby Union team; as a schoolmate of many years, and as the best camping companion I ever had. While I didn’t see Geoff much after school, I will always remember the great times we shared together. Farewell my friend.
