I was deeply moved by Geraldine’s Memorial service and thank you for forwarding it to me John.
It was wonderful to hear from her family and friends who shared their experiences .
I recall when I first met Geraldine. I had only just started working at Peter MacCallum and was very nervous, it was a tough gig. Geraldine was my namesake and that in fact was my opening line. We connected easily. Geraldine had a warmth and charm, an effervescence that I will always cherish.

Dear John, Victoria and James,
What a wonderful celebration of Geraldine’s life.
She was a tremendous colleague at UWC and a fantastic teacher, including for my own children, most importantly my son, who experienced significant learning difficulties. Geraldine supported and guided him while never lowering her expectations both of his academic ability and his behaviour. He was very lucky to have her as a teacher and he still remembers her very fondly.
A great lady.
My very best wishes
Lynne Arrol
John, Victoria and James, I’m remembering Geraldine as an amazing colleague for many years at UWCSEA. She was always gracious, supportive and generous, whilst at the same time, lots of fun. She and John hosted my 50th birthday/25th wedding anniversary bash at your home in Singapore. Friends from UWC, now dispersed around the world have asked me to pass on their condolences to you. Geraldine is a treasured memory.

John, Victoria and James, thank you for sharing this wonderful tribute to Geraldine. It was midnight in Nova Scotia as I watched but filled with so many wonderful memories. Sending our love and raising a glass to Gessa – Lizzie and Pete
A beautiful memorial service for Geraldine with photographs that brought back many memories of our wonderful times together in the 1970s. Even though a lot of time has passed since then you are still remembered with much love and affection.
Dear John, Victoria and James, Thank you for the privilege of being able to join online to celebrate the life of your beautiful wife and mum and my very dear friend, Geraldine. It was a beautiful and heartfelt service but with John at the helm I had no doubt. Geraldine was kind, thoughtful, caring, fun and welcoming but what I hold dearest is the support, understanding and wise advice she gave me without ever asking but with her knowing exactly what I needed. Over our chats on our balcony what shone through was how proud she was of her two children and how much she loved you both and John, you were her rock and the love of her life. I hold dear my memories of my dear friend, Geraldine. Seeing love and strength to you all. Vanessa Montague

Dear John, Victoria and James, Thank you for the privilege of being able to join online to watch the celebration of your beautiful wife and mum and my very dear friend. You did her proud and it was a beautiful and touching memorial. Hearing her friends and colleagues speak summed up what I knew of Geraldine – kind, caring, knowing when support was needed without ever having to ask, fun, loyal, thoughtful… I could go on. I will treasure all the wonderful memories we were fortunate to share. Victoria and James, your Mum spoke so lovingly and proudly of you both and John , you were her rock and the love of her life. Sending my love and strength to you all and raising a glass of bubbles to my beautiful and greatly missed friend, Vanessa Montague xxxx
