  13. Deepest condolences to Champa and all family. Very saddened by the loss of a gem of a person. Aunty had a wonderful personality filled with love, kindness and generosity. I have beautiful memories of aunty from Fiji and Australia. Aunty and my mum, Gurdev Kaur started off as great friends but became family. Sadly, due to circumstances my mum was not able to come and bid her final farewell to her sister. Aunty has left behind wonderful memories. She will be greatly missed. Sincere sympathy and love to all family- from Mrs. Lashkar Singh and family.

  20. Thank you Surinder for inviting us to join in your family’s moving celebration of the life of a true Matriarch – I have fond memories of the weeks on leave from PNG that I spent with you and your family in Parkville in the early 70’s – your Mum’s cooking was legendary and stood me in good stead when I was introduced to the Mauritian cuisine not long after. The fond memory of Mrs Parhar’s devotion to her family and her expansive kindness to all she met will always find a sacred spot in the hearts and minds of the surviving Edwards children. R.I.P. 23. Hi Champa Didi and Bhajis
Our heartfelt condolences on sad demise of Giano Bhuaji. I visited her last year on August 27th and was fortunate to have spend lovely e ending with her. Me and my husband came with Sukhnandan and her husband. bhuaji was very happy to see me and was reminiscing her time in her young days spent with my dad Joginder and she said he and her both were favourites of their grandfather Meha Singh. I was so emotional meeting her and awed with her cheerful demeanour and the memories she shared of my dad with me.
It is a great loss for the whole family but I want to remember her and celebrate her life as my dad always talked very high of her and that is why I made it a point to visit her during my visit to Melbourne.
She made me feel at home and shared all her stories her ninetieth birthday albums and the family tree books.
By way of introduction I am Renu Minhas niece of Giano Bhuaji. My dad and her were first cousins. I am currently located in Canada.
May almighty rest her soul in peace. She was an amazing personality and I am proud that I met her once and will cherish the memory.
Be strong to bear this great loss.

  24. A vibrant and lively figure, knowledgeable and helpful, well known to Late Sardar Ganga Singh’s family in village Karnana, Punjab and then Ba and Suva, Fiji and finally in Melbourne, Australia. Instant comment from late brother Swaran Ganga Singh was “Oh, she would have been a judge!”, if she was given the chance of an education. We will miss you a lot, Bhabiji. May you rest in peace.

  36. What a lady! Gian Kaur Auntie was a legend and a pillar of strength four our family. So so very blessed to be part of Aunties life all these years. My own mother was lucky enough to have spent her last night with Auntie, the advise, strength and love you constantly gave my mum and dad to help with their own journey will never be forgotten. You would check in on me (amongst your own busy schedule) was invaluable, hearing your voice and the support you provided me especially over the past year I will cherish. “Anita, you have made your mum so proud, keep doing what your doing, and don’t worry about anything else” keeps me going. You will never be forgotten and I feel so blessed that you and uncle named me, that I will have forever. Thinking of you, brings an automatic smile to my face. 40. What a lady, Gian Kaur Auntie, a legendary figure in so many ways. So much warmth and love every single time we were with her. My own mother was blessed to have spent the last night of her life with Auntie. She was a pillar of strength for my mum, giving her advice and strength to help with mums juorney in life. Auntie called every few months to check in on me especially over the past year. I feel so lucky to have been part of Aunties life and feel blessed that Auntie and Uncle named me, this memory of them I will have for ever. The visits to Riverland were always exciting and full of love, laughter and tears. The first straighter/crimper I got was thanks to Auntie just saying one word to mum, I kept that for years!!!
