Uncle Ian, I so wish I could have been there to say goodbye. You were a great Uncle that I never got to see very often but when you visited Wales and when I came to stay with you, I remember your belly laughs, wicked humour and great advice.
You will be sorely missed by many and my thoughts are with your family and friends. RIP Uncle Ian you fought hard to the very end.

My condolences to the family. I will always remember you Willy. You were like a second father to me and the best coach I had. Your belief in me was amazing. RIP big fella, see you at the far post. Legend…
Ian was a remarkable man who shall be greatly missed. We never were able to see each other that often due to being on the other side of the world but he always took the time to visit us in Merthyr when he was home. It was fantastic and an honour to see him for my wedding back in 2009 which he flew over for and to also arrange a tour of Swansea City football club for him in later years. May you rest in peace Cousin Ian until we all meet you again. Dorian & Rhian (Swansea) Lorraine (Merthyr)
Dear Robyn,
So sorry that I could not be with you today. Holding you, Leah, Sarah and Ian’s family in my thoughts. It warms my heart that you will have happy memories of your time with Ian to hold onto to.
Love Liz
Sincere condolences to Ian’s family, friends and all who loved him.
Thank you for sharing so much of his time with you with the football fraternity.
Ian believed in our daughter Holly’s talent and work ethic – and as the youngest player at 16 in the inaugural Calder United team travelling weekly from Shepparton (moving to Melb at 18 to house share with other players), we were always grateful for his genuine interest in her mental and emotional wellbeing, as well as soccer development. He remained her trusted adviser when she moved other clubs, always a phone call away, and will be greatly missed as a mentor both in and outside the game he loved.
A beautiful, beautiful service in celebration of Ian’s life and emotional final farewell for a much-loved family man, friend and respected coach. Our thoughts remain with you all – and with Ian always. Hwyl fawr ffrind. George&Jackie , Merthyr.Xx⚽️⚽️
It was a privilege to have known Ian, and together with Trudy and my late husband Paul , we had so many good times together, and shared such laughter and love. Rest in Peace Ian,
From Sherril and Paul (dec).

To the family, friends and colleagues of Ian Williamson,
Condolences to all on the passing of Ian, a man we loved, admired and appreciated.
Like many, Ian was a mentor, friend and colleague that guided me not only through football but throughout life, the lessons of which I will continue to live by and serve me well. I cannot quantify the appreciation I have to Ian for the time, care and openness that he shared during our time together, some 18 years of association. I am forever grateful for his guidance, wisdom and support, I could not have had as special a mentor, person or being like Ian.
Gone but never forgotten, his memory will live will me forever.
Goodbye to an amazing friend xx
