Dear Noel, Martin and Irene,
I was so sorry to hear of the passing of your fabulous Mum. I was so honored to be able to photograph you all on that glorious autumn afternoon – I remember that my cheeks were sore from smiling at the end of it!!
Sending so much love and peace to you all.
Warmest Wishes
Kim Selby

To Noel, Irene and Martin, I was very saddened when I heard the news of Joan’s passing – a life taken to soon. Although we had lost touch over the years, I have very fond memories of working with Joan at the State Savings Bank in Woodend, playing netball, tennis and even having a go at playing basketball, albeit not very well. I recall giving Joan some driving lessons and being stuck as she attempted a handbrake start on the hill outside the state primary school – lots of fun!! Memories of going with Joan to visit Noel at work at the bakery, visits to the Vic Market to look for fabrics etc., organising dances for the netball club, the list could go on. Joan was a larger than life person with such a lot of life yet to live, and she will be sorely missed by all she touched with her presence. She is at peace now and I hope that you can draw comfort knowing that.
Love and best wishes to all of you.

What a wonderful celebration of your life Joan – the service captured everything of a wonderful caring loving person that you were. You will be truly missed by all that loved you. Many fond memories that Glenn and I both hold of you. May you rest in paradise.

To Noel, Martin and Irene,
I watched Joan’s funeral last night and found it so moving and funny. So Joan!
The White family from Hesket met the Keating family in the late 1960’s.
John and Joan provided great business advice and service to all of us over the years. We considered them friends. Joan added in wise council on life and family matters.
Joan was our leader at netball at Woodend and we all went to see her wedding. We adored her.
A number of years ago I too had ovarian cancer. I hope to have a ‘spectacular’ death like Joan. Furthermore she gave me a plan for my funeral one day.
What a woman!
Allyson White.
Dear Joan
What a delightful and beautiful person you were. When I first met you we connected right back when we brought the Dolls house.
Thank you for guiding us on our real estate journey in Woodend we loved every minute.
Thank you for guiding our boys in their first land and home purchases.
Your generosity will live on in Woodend.
No more pain. Sleep peacefully
Lots of love to Noel, Irene and Martin
A lovely farewell to Joan, she’d have thoroughly enjoyed it.
Sorry we couldn’t be there, as we’re currently house-bound with Covid.
Fond memories of the annual shopping trip with Joan at Penola,
in the days when she played petanque.

We didn’t know it at the time but we bought our forever home through Joan in 1975.
We remember her wise counsel about whether to buy a 20 acre block of gorse and weeds, or the next door 4 acres of gently undulating hills..
We had intended it as an ‘investment’ to fund a future house purchase but we decided to build instead. It seemed like a good idea at the time..
And She was right.. thank you Joan.
Joan, you were a very special person and we always enjoyed your visits to our shop and our lovely chats. All our thoughts and love

Your professional support was unwaveringly generous but it was your warmth, grace, wisdom and wicked sense of humour that drew me to you. May the wind be always at your back Joan.
Thankyou.

Dear Joan, you were my loyal client for many years and we had so much fun trying beautiful clothes from here and overseas, I will miss you as will the girls in New Zealand.
May you rest in peace and have eternal happiness for the joy you brought to everyone you met. As we agreed recently when I came to see you in hospital, we will meet again sometime in the future.
Goodbye dear Joan
