  5. Thanks to all of you who were present and involved in Joan’s funeral service. It was good to share this with you from across town. Your stories of Joan taught me a lot and brought back many memories. Was that the St Columba’s choir at the end of the service? I loved singing that song. Thinking of you all, Heather

  6. RIP Joan. I have such fond memories of growing up in Parring Road with you 2 doors up. I’m so glad we reconnected on FB in recent years. Listening to this beautiful service celebrating your life, I now know why you always enjoyed seeing posts about my sea-change to Somers. Sincere condolences to Roderick, Andrew, Richard, Mark and all of your grandchildren.

  7. This was a beautiful celebration of such a remarkable woman’s life. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing the stories shared today and finding out more about Aunty Joan’s life. I will miss having a chat with her from time to time and her friendly comments on Facebook. Our condolences to all your family.

  8. Thank goodness for modern technology so that those of us who would ordinarily have attended in person, can attend virtually and share in this farewell to Joan. And what a huge number of interests she had. I was able to share in a few at St Columba’s through being a member of the Friday Gang and helping out at the children’s Easter and Christmas Activities. My condolences to all.

  9. On viewing the service today I further learnt what an amazing lady Joan was, devoted to family, friends and her faith. A life well lived. Warm wishes to the Smith family at this sad time .

  14. Sincerest condolences to the family, Joan, was a lovely lady and an amazing person., she will be missed. She had a wonderful life, I remember her being in the QLD Gold Coast with Helen Charlton on one occasion, she loved going to QLD with Helen Charlton on many occasions and Helen enjoyed her company.
