Dear Brenda & family, I was so pleased to be able to see John’s funeral remotely. The special family tributes to him reminded me of the happy times when we met up. Lots of love Sue McLean xxxxx
Lovely memories of a happy funny man with a positive attitude to life whatever challenges were ahead . A great service . Keep safe all of you
Dear Brenda, Helen and Stephen,
What a wonderful service and a great honour and privilege to be able to share it with you all. John was and would have been so proud of his family.
Charlie and Billie read so well and Stephen and Helen’s reminiscences were both poignant and funny. Difficult to do on the day but you all did so well.
I hadn’t realised that John had been at Scapa Flow at the same time as my father was there with the RAF; I wonder if their paths crossed.
Our thoughts are with you and we send lots of love.
Adrian, Lana and all our family xxx
Such a lovely service, lots of happy memories.
Lots of Love Ann xx
Dear Brenda. Thank you for enabling me to share a beautiful service to John. He was a lovely wonderful man, I have very fond memories of him.
The service was beautiful. Hearing the memories from your children and grandchildren was very special. RIP dear John. I love you both very much. Love and blessings.

A lovely service for a lovely man. I used to love hearing stories from John when I was at Watermeadow Close since he used to delight in teasing Steve! I particularly enjoyed being reminded of John and Brenda being present on Steve and Teresa’s first date in a caravan in Skegness!
Our thoughts are with you all,
All our love, Neil, Vicky, Alex and Poppy xx
Dear Brenda Helen and Stephen,
Thankyou for enabling me to share in the beautiful service for John. I did try to send my comments earlier but for some reason they didn’t come through!
I have so many happy memories of you Brenda, John, Bill and me from when we became neighbours and the many years of friendship that followed.
Your grandchildren Brenda were a special part of their Granddad’s funeral today. You must be very proud. Love from all of my family to yours. June xx
Dear Brenda, Helen, Stephen and grandchildren,
What a tasteful and honest service, sorry we could not be there. We have fond memories of John up on the hill in Molyullah, cam-recorder in hand and asking to see and film some kangaroos.
David tooted the horn on the truck and the roos came bounding around John in their droves and at a pace. He was laughing and enjoying the fun and adventure of it all, despite the fact that anyone who had not seen a roo in full flight may have been tortured by fear. It was typical of the joyful manner that he always had.
We will miss his presence at future family Christmases.
Take care over the next few difficult months and let’s hope that more fun can be had together with the Bryants and the Fogartys very soon.
Love – Alex, John and Robert
Dearest Brenda, Helen and Stephen ,
Thank you so much for enabling us to join you and all your family for the privilege of seeing John embark on his last journey. We are sad that we are unable to be with you today. Stephen’s and Helen’s memories of all your happy family times were so special as were Charlie’s and Billie’s readings , so touching and brave of them.
James and I will be visiting Margaret in hospital later to day and hope to be able to rerun the streaming for her,
Much Love, Margaret, Mac, Alasdair and James.
A beautiful service for a lovely funny man, our thoughts are with you all. Lots of Love Becky, Richard, Thomas and Katie xx
