  1. Thank you for a lovely walk down memory lane with John. He loved his photos & his music, & he certainly loved his family & friends. A couple of those tunes (the non-classical) reminded me of country dances, so no doubt that style reminded John of Dunnolly days. To Dianne, Alison & Lynne, you did a wonderful job with the service, & John would have been so proud of Alison, Lucy & Evie playing the last track. Apologies for late comment but I didn’t see this section on Tues.

    1. Thanks Pam. John was so delighted to see you. He loved his family.

  5. Well done to you all on such a lovely tribute to John . Thank goodness for photos as they bring back so many memories and snap shots of all the years shared together. We must add that we didn’t even mind his choice of music. There’s nothing like a good variation when it comes to music. Etc. Lucy , Evie and Allison finished the service off very nicely with their beautiful playing. ………. “With all our love and Best Wishes and thank you for live streaming we may not have been there in the flesh but consider us by your side”. ❤️ Jenny & Ian XX

  6. To: Dianne and family.

Please accept our heartfelt sympathy on the passing of your husband, father and grandfather John .
I first met and worked with John at Flinders street ‘ D ‘ signal box and then at Metrol. We shared a lot of good times along the way especially considering that we both barracked for Carlton. We will miss him at our R.A.C.V. gathering, but we will certainly not forget him. May god bless you all.
    Yours truly

What a beautiful service you held for Uncle John. I loved seeing all the photos of his lovely life with you all. My thoughts and love are with you at this time.
Even though its been a long time, I still remember the sacredness of the music room. I think I only ever got to go in there once.

  14. Dear Dianne and family,

that’s a wonderful memory and summary of John’s life. To his many friends, it is the memory of working with him, and discussing his very eclectic music interests that will remain in our memories.

The music selected reminded me of a tape, long since worn out, of a recording of French Hunting Horns in a Paris cathedral, one of many musical interludes I enjoyed with John when he was at Flinders St B Box.

My commiserations to you and the family, as John will be missed, but fondly remembered by all,

    Regards,

    1. Thank you Philip for your back-up. John had the greatest respect for you.
      Dianne and family
