  1. Rest in peace, Lois
Fond memories of growing up in Young as close fiends of the Howards and a lifetime friendship with Lois and Marianne.

  2. What a wonderful tribute to Lois this service was. Lois and had taught together at Korowa CEGGS during the 70s, and I was glad to be able to watch this farewell to my friend with my daughter who’d first met Lois as a toddler about 37 years ago, and was immediately smitten by Lois for the person she was.
I will miss our friendship, our phone calls, our celebratory catch-ups and our visits to one another. However, most of all, I am just grateful to have been called her friend.

  4. We had the pleasure of meeting Lois only once, recently, when Marianne and Tony joined us for a quiet meal on our side of the fence.
Snatching a glimpse, that evening, of a lady whose name previously appeared only in snippets of conversation, revealed threads of a rich and interesting life woven into a tapestry of personal achievement, travel and unfettered adventure.
Sadly, we never managed the chance to explore any of those threads with her further.
Undoubtedly, Lois now sits astride her new bike, probably a 750, exploring fresh corners and enjoying different quests.
    Thinking of those left behind.

  5. My sincere condolences to Lois’ family. Thank you for the on-line service and all the lovely photos. It did capture the essence of Lois and the full life she had, loving nature and adventure and yet with her family always dear to her heart.
Ever since we were friends at Young High School Lois has been an inspiration. In our later years we travelled Australia by motorhome and cruised overseas and supported each other in times of need. She was fun to be with, easygoing, loved nature and its wildlife, and had many interests. While a rebel at times, she was also spiritual yet with a lot of good advice through all her varied experiences, much appreciated by me in our motorhoming expeditions to the outback.
Lois was indeed a special person, and leaves many happy memories behind that will always be cherished by me and those that knew her. I smile because she lived. With Love, Rona

  6. A lovely farewell. I wish I could have been there.

As a footnote to the service; We know that Lois loved animals and, in particular, the animals of the Australian bush. Anyway, something rather odd – even spooky – happened as I watched.

As the video presentation was ending with the words “Farewell Lois” on the screen, two kookaburras opened up on the back fence not 20 feet from my window.
The timing was so perfect that I thought it was part of the presentation and it was only the loudness of their song that eventually made me aware of them.

A farewell from the bush or, so like Lois, her wanting to have the last laugh on me?

  7. Dear Marianne, Tony and Family,
Our thoughts are with you all on this sad occasion. What a comforting service in these difficult Covid blighted times but, with the aid of technology we, and many other friends and family, have been able to join with you in spirit to remember Lois. No doubt she had a most interesting life which she lived to the full and now the agony of the last few months is over, she is at peace..
    Our sincere love and condolences.
    Graeme and Heather

    Kindest regards, Margaret

  9. A lovely service which was a fitting tribute to Lois. A warm hearted and generous woman, always cheerful and sometimes even a bit cheeky. She is sadly missed by her Tai Chi friends in Canberra. Sincere condolences to her family and other friends, as we mourn her passing.
