Receive my blessings and prayerful wishes and hear your Mum saying: TO LIVE IN THE HEARTS WE LEAVE BEHIND IS NOT TO DIE!”
Bren your eulogy was just so beautiful and fitting, I could see your Mum’s face beaming as she listened in to the tributes: she and Bas would have been so proud of you. Thanks to you too Fr Gerry for your words of comfort and hope.

  13. Dear Marg, Josie, Brendan and all the family,
We feel very privileged to have been able to watch and virtually be part of Elaine’s service today. You captured the essence of your Mum beautifully and really honoured her with your words, choice of music and readings. We loved listening to the eulogy Brendan – and we are so glad you’let it rip’ so that we could learn more about your Mum, mother in law, grandmother, great grandmother and quiet support to so many. We loved the story around her ‘penchant’ for pearls – and took particular note of the fact that Hannah was wearing pearls today to honour her Nana.
Your Mum was a remarkable soul. Such a combination of joy, sorrow, compassion, stoicism, mischief and loyalty. Fr. Gerry spoke so well about her. We felt that he really knew both your Mum and Dad.
We hope we get the chance in the future to see you in the flesh and honour the life of your Mum. Our thoughts are with you all today.
    Rest in peace Elaine.

  19. Dear Josie, Margaret, Brendan and Families. Our love to you all on the passing of Elaine. Jan has many happy memories of the many times she was welcomed into your home along with others from the youth group. One of my favourite memories of your mother was ringing up one time to ask if Josie was going out with the group to be told no. Elaine then said I probably thought she was a dragon, caught on the hop I had to say yes. I’m sure she had a quiet chuckle about that.
You are all in our thoughts and prayers,
    Love Jan and Stephen Nash

  25. Dear Margaret and family, what an extraordinary woman your mother was. I remember her and Maureen with such fondness. Maureen was very witty and your mother more severe but had a very dry sense of humour and they were both such lovely women. I loved playing with you and Elizabeth at 22 Flinders Street Thornbury when Mum would take the trip from Westgarth. Brendan’s eulogy was absolutely wonderful.
