Dear Margaret and Alan, Josie, Brendan and families, A really beautiful tribute and farewell to your mother and grandmother. We were so pleased to learn more about Elaine’s early life and her gifts of love and hospitality. Thank you too, Father, for helping us to reflect on how her suffering had been transformed into action on behalf of others whose needs were great. The peaceful music contributed greatly to the memorable service which had been so lovingly and thoughtfully compiled. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to you all and to the extended family and thank all who enabled us to share in the celebration of Elaine’s long life. May she rest in peace with Basil and their loved ones.

Sending love and hugs and a word of hope from St John Chrysostom:

THEY ARE NOW WHEREVER WE ARE!
PAX! Carmel
Dear Marg, Josie, Brendan and all the family,
We feel very privileged to have been able to watch and virtually be part of Elaine’s service today. You captured the essence of your Mum beautifully and really honoured her with your words, choice of music and readings. We loved listening to the eulogy Brendan – and we are so glad you’let it rip’ so that we could learn more about your Mum, mother in law, grandmother, great grandmother and quiet support to so many. We loved the story around her ‘penchant’ for pearls – and took particular note of the fact that Hannah was wearing pearls today to honour her Nana.
Your Mum was a remarkable soul. Such a combination of joy, sorrow, compassion, stoicism, mischief and loyalty. Fr. Gerry spoke so well about her. We felt that he really knew both your Mum and Dad.
We hope we get the chance in the future to see you in the flesh and honour the life of your Mum. Our thoughts are with you all today.
Rest in peace Elaine.
Dearest Josie,
Our love to you, and to the memory of your mum and to your family. It was a beautiful service, and we were so moved to be there beside you via video link. Your mum left a beautiful legacy, that we see in your own generosity of spirit, compassion, and also in your music.
Prue and Laurence.
Dear Josie and family, my heart goes out to you all at this sad time. I am sure your mum would have felt and is feeling your presence and love. Hugs to you all.

Dear Josie, Margaret, Brendan and Families. Our love to you all on the passing of Elaine. Jan has many happy memories of the many times she was welcomed into your home along with others from the youth group. One of my favourite memories of your mother was ringing up one time to ask if Josie was going out with the group to be told no. Elaine then said I probably thought she was a dragon, caught on the hop I had to say yes. I’m sure she had a quiet chuckle about that.
You are all in our thoughts and prayers,
Love Jan and Stephen Nash
LOL so typical and funny. Thank you both so much for joining us.
Beautiful service, especially under the circumstances. I will always have strong memories of visiting Bas and Elaine, and Elaine’s generosity and hospitality. Spending time with her always brought back some of my best memories of Pat. Hope all her family is keeping well.

I loved playing with you and Elizabeth at 22 Flinders Street Thornbury when Mum would take the trip from Westgarth. Brendan’s eulogy was absolutely wonderful.
