  1. Don, thinking of you and thank you for a beautiful story of Maxine. She was a great lady and a good friend to us. We had many meals and good memories with you both from your time in Dean’s Marsh. Love to you and your family Don. Beppi, Wicky and Jade

  2. Thankyou for sharing the memorial with me Don. Lovely to hear stories about Maxine’s life. What a remarkable lady! Only met her a few times when I popped over to discuss the build, but she always greeted me with the most genuine and warming smiles. She was lucky to be surrounded by so many beautiful, caring people. A truely beautiful memorial. – Nicole

  3. Dear Don,
Thank you for letting us share such a moving experience. You made Maxine and your lovely partnership with her continue to live with your words. It was amazing to hear how she had such a hard time as a child and young girl but went from strength to strength over the years and your support for her shines through it all. The picture show at the close of the ceremony was a delight – so many happy memories!
It was a beautiful service and everyone involved helped to make it so.
    Very much love
    Ninka and Garry

  4. We are blessed to have known our beautiful Maxine, and to have shared much laughter and many happy times together.
Her gentle presence and our long friendship will be sadly missed.

Max combined gentleness and immense compassion with strength and determination which was especially evident in her work involving the protection of animals and the environment.

We are in awe of her dignity and grace and again, her strength and determination as she lived with her illness. We were always greeted with her warm smile which continued to light up a room no matter how ill she may have been feeling at the time.

Rest dear Max after a life very well lived.

  5. Over 20+ years ago Maxine married Matt’s Dad Don. During the years that followed she became a beloved member of our family and a dearly treasured friend to me.
Max – Thank you … for the many wonderful memories made during shared family gatherings and celebrations, weekends spent together at Deans Marsh and Mt Eccles and our long chats over coffee, brunch and glasses of champagne. Due to the lockdown the kids and I had to say our goodbyes via video link but we are so glad Matt could be there in person to say his goodbyes. We could not be there in person today but we watched together and send our love to Don, Rhonda, Sammy and Tommy. It was a beautiful tribute.
Max, you are loved and we will miss you so much. No more pain, you can sleep peacefully now. Sue, James, Tom, Katherine and Matthew. XxxxX

  6. Thank you so much for this beautiful memorial service. I only met Maxine fairly recently and it was wonderful to hear about her life. I was lucky to get to know Max better this year through teaching her Yoga then hanging out with her at her home – talking, watching TV, listening to music, singing together, and reading together (especially stories about animals – our favorite was Unlikely Friendships: 47 Remarkable Stories from the Animal Kingdom). Max was such a wonderful woman – I so appreciate the opportunity to get to know her. I miss her and our time together…Don and Rhonda, sending you all my love.

  7. What a very special lady Maxine was. Lovely to hear such lovely stories about her life. She was blessed to have the wonderful people in her lives that cared for her so deeply. A truely beautiful memorial.
