Steve, Kathy, Peter and families thank you for live-streaming Monty’s funeral so we could watch it virtually. It was a most moving and sincere tribute to a much loved and respected man. Please accept our condolences. The comments were so true to the Monty we knew. We all enjoyed Monty’s company during his many Tasmanian visits. Monty and Alan usually set off in Monty’s spartan van, always bush camping. Indeed they were two of a kind. Monty will be missed indeed.

Dear Steve and Kathy,
Thankyou so much for livestreaming Monty’s Service. It was a wonderful tribute to him, just as he was.
Jim and I viewed it sitting in a Day shelter at Falls Creek. Jim had to listen through headphones which meant I could see but not hear. He was very moved.
I would now love to listen to the service if that is possible please.
Fond regards
Meg
Monty was (and still is) my inspiration for my many years of volunteering for the Alternative Technology Association/Renew. He visited Brisbane in the Energy Mobile where I met him at the Museum. He was instrumental in the foundation of the original Brisbane branch of the ATA and will be fondly remembered . So long Monty, you left behind a great legacy
Monty was a “best friend” from school days and always someone to look up to. He did incredible things like making a canoe and also a tandem bike from two old bikes. I will always remember the jazz band and the dances we played at.
I learned so much more of his wonderful life at today’s ceremony.
I am so grateful to have been able to share the celebration of Monty’s life through the live-streaming – and what a life! Such fond memories of a kind and caring man who I knew initially through the local Social Club. My deepest sympathy goes to all of Monty’s family for their sudden loss.
It has been my privilege and pleasure to have Monty as a friend. Rest in Peace Monty, I wont forget you. Lindsay Elliott, Gisborne Vintage Machinery Society .

Thinking of you all in the event of Monty’s passing. It was a privilege to be able to share in the celebration of his life (even virtually). Thank you for enabling this. May Monty live on through your memories and through his many acts of kindness. Kindest regards, Adele Seymon

Monty was a quiet, unassuming man who was a true gentleman. It was a pleasure and an hounour to have known him. Rest in Peace.
You were a great friend and much liked work colleague at the SECV. We will all miss you greatly but never forget you.

Vale Mont. couldn’t come today – but the speakers all spoke of the Mont we knew. Thank you for allowing us to attend.
