  1. To Chris, Darcy, Noah, and Patrick,
Sending you all of my meditations to you from Singapore.
Your husband, and father, was a wonderful friend to me when we played football together in the 90s and the team photo of us in 1996 celebrating the Old Essendon Premiership hangs in my study to this day. We also did fun runs together and Phil encouraged me to run a marathon a few years after him in the mid 2000s, he was always encouraging others and helping them to be better,
Genuinely no one had a disparaging word about your husband/father, and he had the unique gift of always seeing the positives in others.
Go quietly my friend, I will miss you.

  2. So glad I was able to watch the service online, it was a lovely ceremony and everyone spoke so well. It was a real celebration of Phillip’s life, I’m sure he would have enjoyed it, no doubt he was there in spirit.

  3. What a beautiful service. Thanks for sharing it online as we were away and couldn’t make it on the day x x. Love to you all x x

  4. A beautiful service for such a wonderful man; clearly and understandably loved by so many people.
We have such very special memories of our times spent with Phil, Chris and the boys.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all and the other members of the Trist family.
    With much love
    Pam and John xxxx

  5. Thankyou so much for making this available to all. It was moving to see and hear the tributes paid to Phil and the tributes paid by Phil. I would like his sons to know that he was a fantastic ‘in-and-under’ footballer who was greatly admired by all of his team-mates at the Old Essendon Grammarians Football Club. The 1996 Seniors Premiership served as a seminal moment in the club’s history and Phil will forever be etched into club history as one of those premiership heroes.

  7. A fitting service for a wonderful man.
I have lots of happy memories of my time playing footy with Phil. A kind and funny man. No matter the occasion, always a pleasure to be around. His great sense of humour and positive outlook shone through today.

My deepest condolences to Christine, Darcy, Noah and family.
