Beautiful service. I went to Elstie (school) with Seb and lived a street away. Seb was always such a kind hearted and funny man. Sending my love to the family during this hard time. Cher
Such a moving tribute to a kind and caring Seb. Our thoughts are with Brenda, Courtney and Craig.
Love from Emily, Alex and all the boys (UK family) x
Seb, he was a good kid. Kind hearted, inquisitive and genuinely interested in you as a person. I spent many a time sharing a coffee with him and Francois, they had unique views of the world and Francois and Brenda always supported his latest venture or interest. So sad to hear of his passing.
It is said that his memories should be a blessing and we trust that his memories will provide great comfort to Brenda, Courtney and Craig and all those that new him. Rest in peace.
Beautiful, lovely tribute to a caring young man.
I met Seb about 10 years ago at a film festival, and we hit it off instantly.
I knew he was a real one immediately, a fellow aficionado, but only as our friendship grew did I come to understand how deep his understanding of film really was.
He was a bona fide cinephile.
There was a time when we spoke on the phone once a week, about cinema, books and life. He became a good friend. I’d look forward to our weekly discussions and the communications via text in between. You could describe Seb’s film knowledge as exhaustive, especially his expertise in horror cinema (a love we shared), but that would be selling it short, it was more than that, he always had an original opinion, a new theory, or a genuine speculation about everything he watched, and it was always enjoyable and enlightening to hear. He truly broadened my understanding of cinema. I’ll really miss getting film recommendation’s from him, doing the occasional podcast together and the intellectual nourishment of our conversations in general.
Seb had a great sense of humour, was very humble and had a big heart (he posted me many gifts over the years). He was an erudite, enquiring and sophisticated thinker. A complicated, searching person. A loyal and generous friend. We drifted in recent years, I had kids and moved back home to Fremantle and he moved up to Queensland, but we still shared thoughts on cinema and life quite regularly.
It’s hard to believe you’re gone Seb.
I’ll miss you man.
We spent 8 school years together before going our separate ways, but once an Elstie, always an Elstie. I am warmed by all the memories shared today, as it proves you remained the movie-loving, cheeky and caring Seb that I remember, and then some. You will be missed more than you know. Fly high, beautiful soul.
On behalf of MEJG Elders and Staff we pass on our sincere condolences to Sebastian’s mother, sister and extended family. From our MEJG family to yours we will miss seeing his beautiful smile and presence coming into our office, we are grateful for the moments we had with him and the conversations we shared. Such a kind and gentle soul he will be sadly miss by all of us but will be in our hearts forever.
A beautiful soul who will be sadly missed. I sat with some of your clients at Elders Justice to watch your memorial Seb. And we’ll be with you for your memorial in Mossman. No words can express my sadness and loss. RIP and fly with the angels and birds.
Unfortunately I’ve tried to post twice now, but it appears to not be working.
Sebastian was a beautiful soul who will be sadly missed by everyone in Mossman/Port Douglas. I’m writing this after sitting at the Elders Justice Office in Mossman with some of Sebastian’s clients, to watch his memorial.
Sebastian posted on facebook looking for work in early 2023 and I contacted him, wanting him to become a support worker for Mable. From the minute I employed him, he thrived and grew.
He was loved and adored by everyone here. His kindness, generosity, passion, dedication and get up and go was just a pleasure to watch.
He used to laugh and call me his adopted mum and he actually was, exactly like a son.
No words can express my sadness and loss.
Rest in peace now my beautiful friend, fly with the angels and birds.
We have just watched the beautiful memorial to Sebastian. What a wonderful tribute to his life and to his character. Sending all our love to Brenda, Courtney, and the whole family. Our thoughts are with you all.

I only met Seb twice but I found him a very pleasant and sensitive young man. We had some very interesting conversations together. He obviously got his love for animals from his grandmother Sheila, my sister. Requiescat in pace.
I knew Seb for a few years since his move to Far North Queensland. He was always friendly and polite, loved his work in the community, giving his time generously to anyone who needed a hand without hesitation. Seb you will be sadly missed by everyone here. Fly high Seb.
Seb may you rest in peace. Life was difficult for you all the way and you tried so hard. Now you can rest in the arms of angels, may you be surrounded by love and light. You will be missed by many and will live on in their hearts.
Brenda, Courtney, Craig and families,
Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this incredibly difficult time.
Sebastian’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May you find comfort in the cherished memories you shared.
With heartfelt condolences,
The Obouhoff’s
Dear Courtney, Craig, Evie & Brenda,
On behalf of the Wesley College Elsternwick community, I extend our deepest condolences for the loss of your son, brother and uncle.
Please know that you are in our thoughts and we all wish you strength and peace in the days ahead.
Dear Seb
You were a close friend since childhood, a role model and inspiration. Your dream to become an ethical hacker lives on in me. Since I knew you, you were one of the most generous and giving people I’d ever met. I’ll never forget your fearlessness and lack of self consciousness during the Clunes performance nights.
You were your own grandpa.
Goodbye
I was good friends with Seb during high school. While we fell out of touch over the years, I remember his energy to be infectious, and his passion and skill for cinema and visual effects to be unparallelled. He also introduced me to the Avalanches which personified him perfectly. One of the good ones and will be missed.
Although I didn’t know Sebastion well I met him through his work as a support worker and always found him to be a wonderful caring person. He was a very kind-hearted young man and I will miss seeing his smiling face in our community. Sending much love to the family.
U will be sadly missed by many but we who knew U feel that U will never know pain again…that helps us who are still here find peace and when we think of U we can smile as U were so very kind and thoughtful to us all…rest in peace.
Still in disbelief and saddened that you’re gone.
Our projects will never be finished and your friendship missed.
You gave without conditions, you took the time to consider other peoples views and feelings on a level deeper than most.
You were nicer than most people I know.
And now you’re needlessly gone.
I hope the peace you longed for is what you found.
When we lose someone we love, we must learn not to live without them, but to live with the love they left behind. Seb left many loved ones behind.
