  1. Anyone who visited 508 would have witnessed the strong family values Charles spoke about during the service. You couldn’t grow up in Camberwell without coming across the determination and energy of Donahoe, all shaped by Paula and Simon. My thoughts are with an amazing family grieving the loss of their grandparent, father and husband.

  2. Dear Paula and Family
We were really upset that we were unable to attend Simon’s requiem today but the video has allowed us the opportunity to join in online. Unfortunately, I had a hospital admission which ended up taking 3 hours so Bryan wasn’t able to attend any of the presentations.
Simon would have loved to hear the beautiful things said about him and the magnificent musical contributions by his own children and grandchildren.
With our love, prayers and best wishes.

  12. Hi Donahoe folks,

(I did post another, longer comment – but it seems to have disappeared…)

That was an amazing service, and I wish I could have been there in person, but it was lovely to be able to watch the live stream and hear the stories of Simon’s life – and the family singing again. My thoughts are with you all.

  13. Hi to all in the Donahoe family,

I’m so sorry I couldn’t be there in person to show my respect for Simon, but I’m thankful I have been able to view the service in this way. I’ve been thinking of you all, and giving you huge (albeit virtual) hugs. It was a beautiful service, and lovely that you were all involved. I loved the stories told about his life (never knew he was thought of as a “rat catcher” lol.) and Elizabeth, Thomas and Peter – you spoke so well.

…and I loved hearing all the music, and you singing together again…not to mention the next generation – who also have lovely voices.

  14. Dearest Joanne & family, Condolences on your loss. Thinking of you all and hugs. With Love Manish & Charu

  18. Sorry for your loss Donahoe family. Simon was one of a kind! He brought me into your family as though I was one of his own. I will never forget his very dry sense of humour.
    All my love to you!!!
