  1. To Tom’s family,

Members of Transit South 2 would like to express their sincere condolences. Tom was truly a great man, full if respect and integrity.

When arriving at as our Sergeant, he at once showed us what he was made of.

A patient man, full of respect and integrity. He made a huge impact upon us in the short time he spent with us.

More importantly, Tom was more than a great man at VicPol. He was a family man. He spoke of his wife and children, saying this was a new chapter in his career where he could spend more time with his family, with his kids.

The temptation to take up a position at the Academy was far to tempting to let it pass by. He grabbed it without blinking.

“This is the first time in my career I’ll have weekend’s off to spend with my kids”, he said.

You father, your husband, always put you first.

    May he rest in peace.

  2. All the best Jane, Ruby Tom and Pippa.
Our thoughts are with you and while we’ll miss the wonderful Tom Snr, his legacy will always remain strong among you all.

Although we have never met, I would like to pass on my sincere condolences at losing Tom. I was a member of Squad 17/93 and did my recruit training with Tom. He was extremely well liked by everyone in the squad, always being happy and positive in his own quiet way. Although we didn’t cross paths often after that , I always knew Tom to be a person of great honesty and integrity.

  20. When we looked at the photos of the many times you shared
And all those little glimpses that showed how much you cared
Although you never would have gloated we all knew it was true
You had the kind of happiness life gives to very few
A home that you treasured, a family you held dear
And a love with Jane that grew even deeper with each passing year.

  30. Dear Jane,
we didn’t know Tom well. However, what we did observe over many years was a happy wife and beautiful children living a wonderful life. This was clearly a testament to a great husband and father and there is little more important than that. We are deeply saddened for you and your kids and your extended family. May your great memories of him give you strength over the coming weeks, months and years. Lots of love from the Blackmans.
