Today was a most heartfelt service for a wonderful man. His beautiful family was definitely his greatest love and legacy. Tony had a unique ability to get things done. In the early 1970s he was instrumental in bringing the Araluen campus at Lower Plenty to fruition, against many obstacles, but his ability to succeed was one of his great strengths. So many people with disabilities have benefitted from his unwavering commitment to help them. His calm and determined guidance of Araluen at Lower Plenty from its inception until 2000 when he retired as Chairman will never be forgotten.

The service was a very emotional, sincere and beautiful tribute to Tony and his life “well lived”.
I very much appreciated the opportunity to have shared it through the live streaming.
Tony was indeed a most remarkable person and it was my very great pleasure and privilege to have been his friend and colleague for the 30 years that elapsed between Tony appointing me to my CEO role at Kindilan in 1980 and my eventual retirement.
It is my belief that my relationship with Tony, and the length of it, were unique in the disability services sector and most unlikely to be seen again in that ever changing sector.
It is my very great regret and sadness that I was unable to be there in person to bid Tony farewell and to give him the final respect that he truly deserved.
My thoughts are with Gillian and the whole family and I wish them well in this time of grief. They have each other and they have Tony’s great legacy to comfort them.

Lots of love to all. Whilst we may not have met you in person your amazing, guiding and loving presence will continue through your whole family.
Dear Mr Negri
You were the most loving and most extraordinary man I ever met.
