  2. It was such an honour to know this most talented man.
I did a gig with Wayne at The Grand
hotel in Mornington, what a scary thing to do, just to be in the presence of such greatness – and to make it even more scarier, he invited me to play on his album.
    Love you mate.
    Condolences to Helena and family…

  5. I was very surprised and shocked from the news of Wayne’s death. I never knew he was ill. We were in txt message contact only last month. Wayne was such a talented musician, and such a lovely guy. Whenever I visited where he was playing he would play a tune he knew I liked, he was so considerate. I have dozens of CDs he gave me, with his hand written notes on the labels. They are so precious now. I am deeply saddened by this, my deepest condolences to ‘H’ and Wayne’s children and entire family. The live streamed service was very beautiful. It’s going to take many months to come to terms with this. My wish would be that this was not real. Bon Voyage Wayne.. welcome to the rest of the Universe.

  6. My heartfelt condolences to Wayne’s family and friends at this sad time.
It was an honor to have known Wayne. He was a true gentleman, an exceptional musician and teacher, and will be sorely missed

  7. We had some fabulous musical times; recording in his studio, playing at the local wineries (eating pizzas and red wine), performing on the cruise ship around Europe.
Wayne was affectionately known as WayNO by me, as he loved to instantly say NO when discussing things (it was actually very funny) and he took great delight of that title “WayNO”.

I have some brilliant stories i’d love to share with the family one day (extremely cerebral).

That was a beautiful service, the girls eulogies brought up much emotion for me and I’m sure everyone else.

    Regards
    Frank

  8. Thinking of you and the family Helena. Thank you for sharing the link and the service of a wonderful man and musician.
    Sue and Richard.

  9. That was so beautiful everyone. Wayne would be so proud of you all. i was sitting with all of the Music he wrote Violin parts for me and my only regret is we didn’t meet earlier in our lives. We would talk for hours and share the stories only Musicians could and laugh and enquire about the mysteries of the Universe.
He would always speak so lovingly of family and was such a supportive friend who really wanted the best for you. In so many ways he taught me about friendship and love, and wow his Music. How lucky was I to play that with him and young Dez! He will be remembered every time I pick up my Violin and that is every day. Thanks for the guidance, the impromptu lessons, the stories, the loyalty, laughter, love and Music dear friend. Walk with Bach, Zappa and your other genius’s and we will meet again and make Music. Love to all the family and love for ever and ever Maestro!
